ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Carragher after the Chelsea game:

"Liverpool need a holding midfielder. They need a real defender, an out-and-out defender who can play right across that back four."

Haven't they spent £100m on two midfielders?
And an out-and-out defender is a new one on me. Didn't Van Dijk and Konate cost about £120m?

You're forgetting that Van Dijk was tragically murdered by Jordan Pickford, who snapped off his leg before beating him to death with it, and is now serving life without parole. It was mentioned at the time, I'm sure...

I may be wrong, but I thought the WC winner they bought from Brighton was a holding midfielder.
He’s more of a quasi-number ten: technical but not afraid to press and stuff. But, he isn’t the quickest or most physical of players.

If they rely on who’ve they’ve currently got in midfield and don’t bring in an actual defensive midfielder, I think they’re going to struggle.

He's played for Brighton as a DM in the past before Caicedo became a force, but I'm doubting that was the position they sold him as playing when they were tapping him up to find out his release clause

Will be interesting to see if the truth emerges as to what was going with Lavia and why they suddenly switched horses. They can hardly go back to him now again after such a public being left at the altar. Will also be interesting to see if anyone gets sacked as a result for messing this up so badly. Whoever else is next in line, they'll need to pay extra to get after all this as nearly all the major leagues have now started. And failing to sign anyone will cause a fume 10 times worse than us failing to sign another striker

Watching Mac Allister yesterday I didnt realise he has absolutely no legs. Yes hr's good technically but really suprised how immobile and slowish he is. Is he usually like that?

I never noticed at Brighton, maybe due to thr style of football they play or Brighton getting legs around him.
