ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

I would imagine 12 would be the limit, however my feeling would be 10 teams from England.

How many games a season depends on whether they keep the champions League or have an European league.

For the next 5-10 years they will keep the European competitions, too much to lose for UEFA in the short term.
That doesn't really help me understand. If there are 10 teams from England, how many teams in total given that Spain, Italy and Germany (at the very least) will want to be involved. Given that there will )I assume) be home and away games I can't see it fitting into a season. Unless you are suggesting a Champions League format just involving these four countries.

What do you need to understand? I'm not the professional body of football.

It's only my opinion that fans would not accept only 6 English teams in an European super league. But the top 10 or 12 would in my opinion swing people's minds and allow clubs like the top 6 and Real, Barca, Juve to force it through.

What is your view on the matter? Do you think we will ever have such a league. And how do you think it could work?

I can't see it happening with 10 English teams. That would suggest similar numbers form the other big 3 leagues and that would not work in terms of fitting into a season.
The only way I could see it happening is 20 teams that then leave their domestic leagues for good.

Fair enough, no obvious answer but I do think English teams will be dominant in the European leagues as they are currently in the Champions League.

That was a massive blunder by Liverpool.

It makes them look, at best, pompous and arrogant, but more generally it positions them as swivel-eyed evangelists that 99.99% of people would slam a door on.
For sure, I wouldn't want to be in the same room with a kopite let alone have one of them preach to me. They've probably taught Luton about dem famous European nights under lights and how to hack into another teams scouting system.

Yes, the fact it was Luton made it that much worse.

A really heavy handed "you minnows will learn" message.

A club created by Tories and with a history of sectarianism and murder behind them should never be handing out admonishments to any other club.

That's a very easy thing to say, but the chant is now associated with Liverpool fans and the media with Hillsborough. Meaning anyone who sings knows what the response would be, Liverpool football club calling out the chant and the the following fall out.

So it's very narrow minded to just keep saying "you don't understand it's nothing to do with that and never has been"

And really anyone who chants it directly at Liverpool fans know exactly why they are doing it. As an antagonist chant to cause upset.

So if your telling me that fans chant it because of Luis Suarez is talking absolute crap and you all know it.

And one last thing I have been a season ticket holder for 11 seasons and not once have I heard that chant in the stands. Because we all know if that was chanted they would be escorted out and rightly so.

It does smack of its OK to take the piss out of anything except liverpool.
I wonder what the re-education would consist of?
Bucharest 86 banners and Munich chant sheets for everyone in attendance.

The re-education would consist of a history of der Libpoolfootballklub...that only starts after 1980 when they sign their first Irish-Catholic...and skips from 1984 to 1986 to reveal the enormously progressive force der redmen have become as a locus for worldwide resistance movements.

The people of Luton are in for a treat.
