ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Yet he won only one league in 9 seasons, one champions league in 7 attempts, one fa cup in 9 and a couple of littlewoods cups.. stop blowing the trumpets trumpet

We can thank two of the best teams in the history of football for that. It literally took a generational Real Madrid team of Modric Ramos Ronaldo Kroos Benzema Bale etc. to stop a team containing Milner Henderson Lallana Shaqiri Origi from winning three champions leagues in five years. No one else was putting them out.

Similarly in the league. We’re talking about the best manager of all time managing a team with the prem’s best ever midfielder, some of its greatest strikers, a few of its best ever defenders, all to only be able to finish ahead of these teams by 1 point twice (and hopefully a third time) otherwise we’d be looking at 4 titles for Klopp.

Quite frankly the squad Amorim will be picking up is nowhere near the one City have. They shouldn’t be anywhere near them in the league or ever troubling the top of the CL. Here’s hoping Klopp’s drug bloke has left the building with him and they’ll start playing more like they do in those odd seasons when they cycle off and teams are running past Alexander Arnold and Van Dijk for fun, and they have to swap their 29 year old midfielders out because they’re all finished and too old.

the problem he has now though is that the only way he improves them is if they win everything every season

Klopp basically had them in the CL final most seasons they made it in

He virtually never lost a game in front of fans at Anfield

He kept getting flukey last minute winners in big games all the time

He barely ever had any reputation crushing embarrassing losses to their rivals, and could always excuse any loss with a refereeing decisionn

He only lost one derby with no fans to see it

He went for two quadruple attempts in 3 seasons

Their expectation levels are now that they win every single game in every competition and they’ve been that way for best part of 6 or 7 years now. The moment Amorim delivers something they’re not used to like getting slapped away at City, or losing a derby, or getting knocked out early in Europe, or god forbid he loses a game at home - that rabid mob will be calling for his head and for Xabi Alonso before you know it.

Not sure this season really counts as a quadruple attempt, FA Cup quarter-finals

Knew he was on the beak when he gave Niasse a 2 game ban for diving

His ego never recovered from him getting knocked back by Peter Jackson for the roll of 3rd Orc from the left in the battle of helms deep.
Call me cynical, but this story reeks of my BBC contract is nearly up - get a fluff story out to make everyone feel sorry for me.

I'm sure we can write a song to make him feel special....

Oh Danny Boy,
The beak, the beak you're snorting,
From line to line and right back up your schnozz...
