ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Arsenal are a better side but the refs are serving this up on a plate this season for them.

Once that Coote video came out I thought: "that's it"...especially with City being unfocussed and the court case against them.

This should be Arsenal's title and would have been last season if City were like this then.

But this is a terrible Liverpool team.

They'll be the worst winners for some time.

Nah. They will lose Salah in January and city will strengthen in the same month. Loads of time for them to bottle it, as they have a history of.
A better City team than this and Ild agree with you.

TBH, I thought it'd be nigh on impossible for City to win it again this season. It's unbelievably tough to retain that type of focus. Not other club in the past has done it anyway.

But Arsenal's terrible form has handed Liverpool this title - although I'm convinced the decision has now been made by the PL and PGMOL that Liverpool wins it this season.

I hope I'm wrong, but this looks like the writing is on the wall.

Always remember they are scum.

No amount of titles and cups makes up for the carnage that club have brought to people's lives.

They'll always be more than a club...they're a club renowned for death and destruction as much as they ever have been for football.

I'd rather be an Evertonian for one day...even during these times...than a Liverpool supporter seeing silverware regularly. At least our silverware isn't daubed in blood.

Agree, I don't think they'll win it this season, implosion incoming after crimbo I reckon. City will step up again, Villa for runners up.

I think Arsenal would be walking off with it if it hadn’t have been for injuries and some bad luck. They were seconds away from winning at City, and only an injury crisis stopped them battering Liverpool. They had a few silly red cards and the injury to Odegaard. They’ve actually had some very difficult fixtures already. If they can stay in touch then they’re capable of going on a massive winning run. Klopp’s Liverpool were five points ahead of Arsenal at end of January last season and finished 7 behind. This team is equally as lucky but they’re giving teams chances against them every game and the solid defence they started with is now starting to concede every game.

but nxt week
it’s 11. conceding doesn’t matter if your still
winning

they are scoring even without
him scoring.

it’s all falling in line for them
It defo is.

My only sliver of hope is that they ARE a poor football team and that a rebalancing will happen along the way. The Coote business make me doubt that though. I just feel they've been sanctioned to with this now. It's no reflection on them: they're a poor team as far as top clubs go.

Our task is to bite that bullet - forget their celebrations in May - focus on staying up, getting into the new stadium and then come back as a contender ourselves.

Well, we might not in the next decade or so see a dynasty like City but there's always a challenger from somewhere every now and again: Newcastle in the 90s, Chelsea and City in the noughties.

That new stadium will eventually attract a major investor. Of that I have NO doubt.
