ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Yep, and they've PR'd it as well – club tweets read like the club are paying 100%, not a 20% top up

The word furlough gave it away. The furlough scheme means 80% government subsidised. But their fans on Twitter all seem to be financial experts and are arguing it's not true.

I really hope we dont do it. It doesn't sit well with me.

I think more Prem clubs will use the scheme to save a few quid tbh – especially after Burnley said they will lose 50m without a resumption of the league.

But yes, I hope we don't use furlough.

The worst thing that could ever happen is the league being voided. While we would find it funny initially, can you imagine the outcry from them. It would last for DECADES. The "denied champions", the miscarriage of justice. Seriously, it would be awful. Just end the season, give them the effing trophy so they can be tainted champions, and get on with next season.
NO, give them 'kall

Maybe but it won't be through having to pay the tea lady and the guy who drives the mower their full wages

Spot a Facebook kopite.

Loads of them saying read the article , it doesn't say that , Liverpool are paying the wages etc. Nearly every person who questions why the club is letting the government / taxpayer pay their staff is being replied to telling them to read the article.

Article says

Staff affected will receive 80% of their salary through the government's job retention scheme and the club will make up the difference.

They are being defensive over everything!
