ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

More calls from them on RAWK that we will go bust should the season be cancelled. I haven’t seen us running to the government for help to pay staff, that’s the type of behaviour of a club would would be going bust

I'm not old enough to have gone to have gone to Anfield when they had they old Kop, but was it really as good as people make it out to me, was the atmosphere that much better than any other ground? Because most clubs fans would be up for a champions league semi final, you hardly need to be the best fans in the world. Our fans have provided great atmospheres over the years against Liverpool was excellent, games against Fiorentina, United, and a few others have been brilliant over the years, but we don't go round telling people we're the best fans in the world. The loudest ground I've been to in Britain was Stoke about 10 years ago, but Anfield is usually a morgue unless it's a big champions league game. It's also bizarre that they have a go at Chelsea for waving plastic flags, when their fans do the same with the contrived flag waving, when all the flags are taken by the stewards before kick off. While their fans are widely known as k***s Leeds fans at least are loud most games and they are extremely loyal, I wouldn't associate their fans with being especially loyal. It was also amusing when Red Star Belgrade fans clapped them singing YNWA, the Liverpool fans thought they were showing respect to them, when they were actually mocking them for not singing through the game. At least they have their friendship with their fellow cultists in Dortmund.

Was listening to the clive tyldsley commentary of the man utd win in barcelona v bayern in 99 the other day.
You can barely hear him speak its that loud.
Never at them sort of decibles in the 05 comeback vrs milan

They proudly proclaim 'Scouse Not English' until it comes to ensuring that their position and profits are protected where at that point they run to central government.

They (the fans) regularly talk in such a sanctimonious way where they preach their superior socialist values, but once again they show their stance is... well...

That's my view on it as well mate. They have used a mechanism of the Government who they historically despise as soon as they could.

Principles? Yeah, only for virtue signalling when things are normal. First crisis comes along and they boot those morals out faster than they did Shankly when his time was up.

Because someone mentioned it in here I just had a little glance at RAWK , shudders , and I think again it illustrates the difference between that site and the greater RS fanbase . Most reds I know are at best unhappy and at worst outraged by the move but RAWK has a fairly strong defence of the position of ‘our club ‘ .

Mainly the local reds that are outraged by it, basically because they understand the fibre of the city and possibly as they have seen how we have dealt with it locally.

The devon reds, thomas cook reds & the tv subsription reds are the ones standing up for club as they have no relation to the people who will be affected, they support liverpool because moraly they just want to 'be the best' and not care about snything else.
Outraged ones tend to be the ones who have some sort of identity

My Kopite bro-in-law is from Huyton and his Mum was friends with Dr Fun's family. She went to his funeral and apparently they put the puppet on top of the coffin.
When it went in the cremation chamber all the lights flickered and a ghoulish spirit was sighted on the chimney screaming "The crypt cannot tame me! I'll be back!"

Some time later Liverpool signed evil gnome Louis Suarez, just a coincidence I'm sure.

What a shock someone from the anfield wrap on radio 5 “not seeking to defend the clubs actions “ whilst then going on to half heartedly defend the clubs actions .

In fairness to them, the vast majority I’ve seen on Twitter have been disgusted with it and have said as much.

When I saw the news, I was half expecting a deafening silence from journos like Brian Reade and that god-awful Sam Quek but they’ve been clear on how shameful it is.

Still think they’ll backtrack along with the other clubs, either for PR reasons or HMRC advice that the furloughing criteria may change. Still cringy and embarrassing though, an inept lack of tact and leadership.

Giving them 100% of their wages is just a grubby way of trying to clean a tiny corner of the filthy smeared window their massive PR own goal has created.

For such mega rich and supposedly socially aware owners to take advantage of a scheme set up for a national emergency isn't just not a good look it's doing it simply because by the letter they can and thought why not? - it saves them paying and in business why pay if someone else will pick up the bill, that's us the taxpayers.

People are frightened of losing their jobs and future, businesses struggling to keep going - it's why this scheme had to be set up - Liverpool's owners like Spurs are just exploiting it and permanently tarnishing their so far carefully created and so called caring image.

Very, very poor.

Hopefully the non playing staff in liverpool get their money quickly. Wouldnt be suprised if there is a backlog for this or do liverpool fc keep paying and they apply for the money the scheme themselves.

That’s what I was sort of saying really mate , illustrating that disconnect.
