ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

In fairness to them, the vast majority I’ve seen on Twitter have been disgusted with it and have said as much.

When I saw the news, I was half expecting a deafening silence from journos like Brian Reade and that god-awful Sam Quek but they’ve been clear on how shameful it is.

Still think they’ll backtrack along with the other clubs, either for PR reasons or HMRC advice that the furloughing criteria may change. Still cringy and embarrassing though, an inept lack of tact and leadership.

I’ve already mentioned the majority of local reds I know actually being unhappy at the situation but I’m glad someone as impartial as you could leap in to be ‘fair to them’ .

That's my view on it as well mate. They have used a mechanism of the Government who they historically despise as soon as they could.

Principles? Yeah, only for virtue signalling when things are normal. First crisis comes along and they boot those morals out faster than they did Shankly when his time was up.
What's worse, I don't suspect that they as a club are in fact in a crisis situation when you compare it with other clubs and their dire financial situations.

Yes, Liverpool have thrived on their global image and rising gate receipts (with merchandise), but they announced a hefty pre-tax profit not too long ago.

They could have rather continued to pay their non-playing staffs wages and be comfortable before (perhaps) moving to the scheme, but they jumped right at it.

Why? It's to protect their owners profits and their status because I suspect they don't want to be disadvantaged: they want to come out of this with more money.

Their players are still having their food cooked for them daily at Melwood before being delivered: nice to see their classification of essential workers and all that.

That cant be true about food being delivered. Got to be fake news lol

Sadly there’s nothing that club can do to dent their PR image. Their fans have killed numerous people, attacked local opposition fans in Europe on almost every trip they make, they’ve smashed up an opposition team bus, they supported a racist player, they’ve been involved in tapping up players, hacking opposition scouting systems, they spent money they didn’t have trying to win and had to be bailed out through a court case that relied on people’s good will towards them when they should have just gone into administration, they ran their local area into the ground and forced people out of their homes, they threw bricks at an ambulance carrying an injured United player, and now they’re using taxpayer money at a time of crisis as they don’t want to spend a paltry amount on their own staff:

Despite all of this they have nearly every major sports media outlet and journalist in the uk eating out the palm of their hand writing eulogy after eulogy about them and how they should be everyone’s second team because they have so much class in everything they do. Imagine having a rap sheet like the one above and still having the cheek to bang on about never walking alone and this meaning more. No other club in the country can even get near that list of debaucheries yet Liverpool fans strut around like peacocks on moral high horses telling anyone who will listen about how they basically invented supporting, how they invented clapping the opposition keeper, how they invented banners, how they invented pressing, how they invented quick corners or whatever other rubbish comes out of their mouth on a daily basis.

I hope if nothing else this latest unsavoury episode in the debauched history of that club shuts their media propaganda machine and their fans up for at least a day to give every other normal person in the country a break from the endless guff they churn out.
This is the post of the year, I congratulate you sir

Wow this is bonkers. Is our club doing this

Mason Holgate is back with his parents so I imagine hes alright, Theo Walcott has his tins of soup...

The DBB article said everybody working at Finch Farm or the clubs offices was sent home the friday before the derby. So I cant see how we're doing that.

Cringy FFS people are going to the wall every day, people are ruined , that's a national disgrace, any justice in this world they would be kicked out the league.
