ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

There’s no evidence to support this claim. Also, how can a few hundred fake tickets cause people to be detained for up to four hours?
How can the stade de France (opened in Jan 1998) and likely to have held circa 250 major events since it's opening have no track record of major crowd disturbance or problems processing fans, but all of a sudden they have their first issue and it's with Liverpool fans. Are you suggesting that this is entirely coincidental. Furthermore, on the night they have an issue, it's not at the Real Madrid end, but Liverpools. As far as evidence goes, go on twitter there is and was more than enough at the time. Some Liverpool fans (Gary Walsh for eg) put out tweets celebrating they'd bunked in his dad in. Gary deleted it relatively soon after (before the game had kicked off)... I wonder why? There were several accounts saying to get in touch for blag tickets too. It's a mentality of 'we'll get in' and if we don't so what, nothing lost.

Liverpool fanbase will never move forwards if they can't call out their own. They don't want to look internally at themselves as a club or supporters clubs. So rinse an repeat. There are always multiple factors, but covering up an excusing the behaviour of Liverpool fans means that this will happen again.

Spot on

The fact you couldn't see the stairs when the ball went to the right side of the field, shows there must have been too many people in that area of the stadium. I don't really see how there is debate over this.
Because UEFA and the French authorities' total disregard for any organisation at all has helped lead to this.

It's been well documented that there were locals attempting to bunk in.

I know it's also been documented that there were Liverpool fans bunking in too.

But how they organised the entrance is disgraceful. How the police went into attack mode is disgraceful. Let's not get tribal because it's that lot alright.

Now, Liverpool as a club need to shoulder some responsibility. This rhetoric they have, this hype - it helps build up and lead to chaos. That needs to stop.

However, UEFA blaming them for the other night is disgraceful - and Madrid fans were caught up in it too. And the French police and government are sickening and honestly put our lot in a good light tbh. Plenty of French ministers have now come out and said the same thing, too.

20,000 people down one road, cut in half by police vans, under a flyover, in a notoriously rough area of a sprawling city, with 6-8 stewards checking tickets before they got to the turnstiles, and no other checkpoints, with said stewards then leaving their post and letting everyone through to the turnstiles... This is on UEFA and the French.

Some of the comments in here are ridiculous.

Take your blue-tinted specs off.

The people in charge are in charge of safely organising events. And Real Madrid fans were caught up in this too, because there was no clear organisation.

Two of my colleagues were there covering the match - both Man United fans, both can't stand Liverpool as much as I can't. They said it was horrific.

Well 2 fellas in my street had 100 of those said tickets between them. Multiply that by a few hundred more selling them and I think we can safely say there will have been quiet a lot. Don’t think we need too much evidence where this lot are concerned.

I think you should check up what policing has been like in France under that short arse Macron
There has been plenty accounts, some shared on here of police not kitted up until the problems started.

End of the day, it comes back to the same question , why was it only Liverpool fans affected? Either there is a reason that is being whitewashed or it's an anti English agenda by the French.

The owners don't care if the fanbase moves forward or not.
They are all easily replaceable,it's all about the brand, the marketing of the franchise and dollar worth of the club when the investment group decides to sell.

There’s Blame to go around . 2 of your mates were there . that’s nice . There’s tons of evidence showing liverpools part in it .
google all the prestigious events that ground has hosted. And tell me why only isis and LFC have caused problems?

Were they? Brand new to me that.

Its them Chelsea fans, innit.

There is blame to be shared. The police were clearly over the top, but the evidence is that there were more people than there should have been in areas of the ground too.

I am surprised by the lack of security though to be honest. I was at both Paris stadiums in 2016 and the security operation was huge.

Look at photos above in this thread to see the contrast between Madrid and rs sides inside the Stade. Clearly thousands of rs had got in and stairwells blocked. For those with genuine tickets left outside, they should thank their wonderful rs comrades who barged their way in.

A rs bloke was interviewed on one of the news clips outside the ground tickets had been grabbed out of youngsters' hands. Athens all over again.

The Dad in question tweeted about their traumatic experience and this was posted yesterday on this thread.
They were locked outside but...their seat allocation was full with fans sitting in the walkways...?
