Second? More like 5th or 6th or even 7th fiddle these days.. and that's an awful lot of fiddles..

Ha Ha Ha.

Bullets in the post."
"5th, 6th, 7th fiddle you mean. "

If you are going to quote me - at least give me credit. :D x

I was referring to the comparison between the 2 Baseball sides - Henry argues they are 1 and 2, and he then goes on to compare them to being (similarly) frustrated by United. So, in one fell swoop, his basic argument is that the RS are playing 2nd fiddle to United. However he conveniently overlooked the fact that, in the time between the RS's dominance and now - when by any normal convention it will be argued United have been Number 1 - there have been any number of teams with a greater claim to being 2nd fiddle to United, chiefly Chelsea, then Arsenal and now City - so, by any stretch they are 5th fiddle and with Spurs and Everton in contention for that seat in the orchestra he's talking BS - so, basically I was abridging the comment down to a few words (though, clearly, not now). :)

RAWK

"Rafael Benitez is a better football manager than Ferguson and I'm certain he would have dismantled Man Utd as the dominant force if he'd had owners who at least wouldn't thwart him, let alone giving him help.

Ferguson did very well at Man Utd but considering what Rafael did at Liverpool he only got the better of Benitez because he had to fight both Ferguson and his board room. That was too much."

I knew there must be a good reason..........

I've seen that sort of statement a few times on RAWK....I even seen a Mod use it as the reason that Brendan Rogers couldn't get a team above a David Moyes team because of the Yanks that left 3 years ago. A Mod.

Some numpty just called anfield a fortress, 3rd best in europe behind barca and city. I had to tweet him that chelsea had a better record and they hadn't played any of the other top 6 at home yet. Really is a bizarre boast that it's a fortress....bit premature and verging on delusional...

You're a bang average side with a top drawer striker & a forward who's World Class.

You score 3 & we'll score 4, will only get you so far, as the ridiculous strike rate that Suarez is currently producing won't last indefinitely. Behind that forward line you're not a particularly good side, let alone a league winning one.
You don't get 'lucky' as you cleverly try to portray it over 20 games. And Suarez may not continue his scoring rate, but the return of Sturridge means we will continue to be a side with a lot of goals in it.

But the rest of your team is bang average.... You don't win leagues with 9 average players in your team.

All are good players....won't call any of them world class but some of them have the potential to be quite great in the future and most of their performances this season doesn't justify the 'bang average' tag. In fact the only player who I would call bang average is the left back Cissokho.

So who as potential to be quite great in the future ? And if you say Henderson I'm gonna end this conversation now .
