ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

So who as potential to be quite great in the future ? And if you say Henderson I'm gonna end this conversation now .

You are free to do so but if you are blind enough to see the improvement and development in Henderson then I can't really help it. Coutinho has suffered a dip in form but his talent is there for all to see and Sterling is finally starting to come onto his own and has been brilliant for the past month. Sakho is another one....

Henderson is a bang average work horse.
Coutinho is all show against lesser teams....he's been awful against decent teams.
Sterling will become another Walcott/Lennon type player.... He will occasionally do something good but for the most part he will just be a fast runner with no end product.
Not seen much of sakho to be honest..... Could be great, could be a sakho sh1t.

Henderson's been very good this year.

Sterling's shown a lot more recently as well, but he's limited. He won't go that far imo.

I'd say your full backs, centre backs and midfield players average out at... well, average. Some above average, some below.

Suarez is unbelievable though. He really is the 90 odd percent of reason you are where you are. Sturridge has been very good as well, but isn't as influential. Coutinho struggles, for whatever reason, to put his stamp on a game. Maybe he's not adapted to the english game.

Suarez does an excellent job of papering over the cracks and hiding the fact that money hasn't been spent at all well. We all know how much Kenny wasted and this has continued since Rodgers has come in although not as badly.

For 20 million pound I'd expect a hell of a lot more from zhenderson than what he's shown.... He's not bad at all.... He's average.

So Walcott doesn't have an end product? Anyway Sterling already does some great work on the final third and unlike Lennon and Townsend who are quite one dimensional, his game isn't solely based on pace. Coutinho drifts in an out of games but he is still very young and has room to mature.

Wasted money under Dalglish I agree but not with Rodgers barring Borini. You may cite Allen but he was suffering from the 'Henderson' syndrome in that he he was cowed with the expectations that come with a big fee. He was quite good in the games he has played this season and one can see that he can become an important player in the future. Other signings like Sturridge, Coutinho and Mignoet have been a success.

Walcott through the middle scores goals..... Out on the wing he's a 1 in 5 player.
Sterling has already been found out by top teams..... As has Coutinho...... If either of them amount to world class I will come back and apologise to you. As it stands , I would take your keeper, Suarez and Sturridge..... Out of your current squad for a joint team.

Borini
Aspas
Illiori
Allen

Great buys them.

He's not worth anything near £20m, no, but he's a great athlete who gives 100% and has a bit, if not a whole lot, of quality. Good player overall. I'd say Lucas is average. Henderson is worth more than Lucas to them due to what he can offer physically, for me. Saw it against Spurs. He was key to their shutting Spurs down and immediately getting at them. Summed up with his goal.

There really are only a handful of very good players in that squad though, which is hilarious given the absolute mountain of money that's been invested. It's enough to have been qualifying for the CL for years. I love it when they make excuses for the manager and have a go at their owners.

Edit: Cissokho was a loan

Oh, Allen is most certainly a waste of a good few million. Worth a fraction of his fee.

He has been found out against top teams? He was great against Spurs and City away and probably our most effective player against Chelsea as well. And ffs he has just turned 19, so he is allowed the odd off game.

If you are talking about joint teams, then from your side I'll probably take the two full backs, Jagielka and Barkley. Swings and Roundabouts.........

How much did you spend on Cissokho?

Cissokho is on loan so no big loss there.....Allen was worth 15m....ok maybe not worth that at that time but certainly not a waste of space as many people like to think. Again like many young players he needs time to mature fully.

Sterling is awful mate.... One trick pony. I'm being serious.

You'd have your centre mids over ours?

If you believe Allen is worth 15 million then I give up.... Honestly I do.
He's a poor Leon Britton.
