It's Sturridge or Gerrard but not both. Gerrard could only ever play a free role with proper midfielders covering him, he can then join in attack and defence and look like a superhero, the fella never had the proper discipline or positioning for midfield. Look at yesterday's game, he's all over the place, that's not his legs going, he doesn't know where he's supposed to be. This is why he never looks the same playing for England. When they go with 2 up top, Stevie is a liability, if it's Suarez up top on his own with an extra body in midfield, Stevie has the run of things, but he is waning now and Sturridge is the obvious choice.

can't really blame the ref from that angle, but as it's him i would never give it. I can't believe all these commentators are going on with **** like "it's a case of his reputation going against him" whenever he doesn't get a free-kick. it's total bollocks, they say it as if the refs shouldn't be doing that.

why not? he's not to be trusted, he's not good enough to get them out of a tricky situation with his ability so resorts to cheating, he was at it all game as soon as they went behind.

To be fair, he has been a top attacking midfielder, almost an auxiliary forward but he never would have been given that luxury at UTD under Ferguson (for example).
