ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

There's still a possibility of them finishing 3rd, and if Arsenal had a bit more luck with injuries they'd probably have finished ahead of Liverpool as well.

Brent's achievements have been wildly overstated, especially when we factor in the lack of European football. And the early exits in both domestic Cups.

Back to 5th/6th/7th next season even if they keep Suarez, if he goes then, with the wind in the right direction, I honestly, no wind up intended, believe they could be in a relegation battle.

49 goals conceded which is only two fewer than Hull, take Suarez's goals and assists away and they'd have 55 goals (i know why that's a daft thing to say but there's no other player who has contrbuted such a disproportionate amount to his team).

Gerrard a year older, Sturridge's purple patch looks to be over, Agger potentially on his way, Skrtl, Toure, Sahko, Flanagan are all bobbins. Horribly mediocre midfield. Over £100m in debt. They could be in serious trouble very, very soon.

Top Polyanna post.

And if John Henry, Tom Werner etc think that Boston breaking their duck a few years ago with the World series was big, well I suspect they may in time reflect and think of that as a Boston Tea Party compared to what's likely to happen in Liverpool in May.

Urrgghh.

Spot on mate, its going to be bedlam. Just under half a million people live in Liverpool but a quarter of a million hit the city centre in 2005, Liverpool will shake to its core when we win the PL. The foundations of St Georges hall will rock.

That'll do for now, couldn't be arsed to post any of the posts about Gerrard's 'speech' but it was embarrassing how many of them were fawning over it, just odd.

And it amusing to see them trying to convince themselves that it doesn't matter, this is the start of a period of dominance, bestest manager in the world, the two greatest young players the world has every seen in Sterling and Coutinho, ENRIQUE TO RETURN, one guy was even citing the return of the 'loanee superstars' (i couldn't detect any irony).

No, no it isn't the start of anything, this was your one and only chance for the next decade or so. I'm actually excited about seeing that defence against one of the top teams in Europe. They will get absolutely mullered.

Paul, and I'm not yanking yer chain here just because of the situation we find ourselves, your club have always been the only one in London I actually like. It's a proper [Poor language removed] English football institution, with very loyal and passionate, unspoilt support, a formidable reputation for producing players through the youth system, a great sense of tradition, and one of the best anthems/symbolic terrace japes in the world game (everyone blowing bubbles! A beautiful, innocent, funny sight in an increasingly cynical sport).

I can see why yous are unhappy with Big Sam and the brand of footy yous've been serving up under him, but it may yet prove useful for the greater good of the game in England! It would be fitting for so many reasons if your lads could pull off this miracle.

I don't have anything claret & blue to wear Sunday, so I'll be there with this instead:

I hope so because I would like to see a thread where people are taking the piss out of Liverpool for a change.

Nah its still locked and likely will remain that way i reckon until next season unless they somehow won it and then it'd be open straight away mate lol

amusingly though they seem torn in half atm about being gracious (usually badly obviously fake) and being the most bile filled ultra red they can be, apparently the gist from several threads is Nasri deserves to die for tweeting well done palace, City should be docked points for breaking FFP rules, City are a small club as true success is measured in European performance, which Liverpool will prove next year as they are experienced and don't bottle games like city do in Europe (I [Poor language removed] you not with the bottle comment), Carroll and Downing will want to win on the weekend as they both love Liverpool and enjoyed their time their

Noel Gallagher is apparently hated by all reds now and they will never buy any of his records again and talk of a petition to boycott them being organised - i guess they will stick it on a banner

City showed how small time, spiteful and plastic they are by singing the Stevie Geeeeeeeeee song, obviously not realising that their gonna hear it 38 times next season yet like

Best of yet is if the league table was determined by wages paid and transfer fees paid then Liverpool would be 7th, Rodgers would have won the league with a month to go with the City squad, FFP will bring integrity back to football as City and chelsea will fall away but Liverpool have a bigger commercial income so will thrive due to it (obviously ignoring the fact if FFP applied to them currently they'd be in massive breach by around 90m or so)

It is kinda like going into an episode of the league of gentleman trawling their for half an hour like

I've done the sums and worked out that if Liverpool can beat Newcastle 9-0, well, say 12-3 given their lousy defence, West Ham only have to
beat Man City 5-0 and the Reds will win the League.

Yes, I've jumped the gun as some of you've pointed out. It was good fun doing the calculation, though.

What about a draw at City and the Reds winning 15-3. Oh, imagine the pain. Missed by that much.:bye:
