They won't have a player like suarez banging them in and have to play 15 games less than everyone else any time soon. It's not a forgone conclusion but it's looking likely that they'll never have a chance like this for a long time.

Darned right they would have taken 2nd in August.

No doubt about that whatsoever.

If you had offered it to them around 3 weeks ago you would still be picking the glass out of your face.

Yes, it is just nonsense them saying that.

They had it won with three games to go so they will be devastated at not winning it.

It's a bit similar to us.

We would have happily taken 5th back in August but as we looked favourites for 4th and a CL spot on the morning of the Palace game I can't help but feel a bit disappointed.

But our let down is nowt like the scale of theirs.

Not least because they build themselves up to such a state they make their own players nervous.

The Kopites themselves paid a big part in the team's collapse.

Have to agree to a certain extent. They've been walking around with hard on's for a few weeks now. The guards of honour before each game, the banners appearing at the training ground etc. Lets not forget that the kopites started celebrating the title at the end of March, organizing parties, job applications for the victory parade and the premier league champions t-shirts showing up on the streets of Liverpool. The players were NOT oblivious to this and the pressure finally broke their back.

Looking at Stevie Slipard yesterday after the game, i think he aged about 10 years.
