ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Their title challenge and the subsequent demise of it couldn't have been more welcoming. Although I was genuinely scared for my well being should they have completed the job, the way it panned out is a side event that I can tell people about for years to come. After I've told them about how Martinez came along and won us 345236 trophies, obviously.

Jose is the king though for what he did. No orher manager in the league could have masterminded what he did.

The mind games before hand suckering Liverpool into attacking them. The complete disregard of criticism by playing super defensive. The wonderful wumming after the match. In one bit of brilliance he took the title from them. For that i'll always be grateful.

Crystanbul was hilarious but the week before they were in their pomp feeling unbeatable bragging about how they were going to smash chelsea for four or five. Then Mourinho smashed the whole facade at their very own back yard. Crystanbul wouldnt have happened had Mourinho not happened. All that super confidence, aura around the SAS, power of the crowd nonse swept away by some competent defending. Palace caught on and if Newcastle had been barely competent they would have won as well.

That is the blueprint all bottom half sides will follow next year. Thankyou Jose.

The best bit is this;

They'll think they're gunna be up there challenging next season now. They think the 'Liverpool way' is here to stay and they'll tonk sides every week and win the league.

They can't see it'll normal service resumed for them and their brainless soundbyte manager.

I've read a few comments on here about them possibly using the Hillsborough tragedy to spin some positive propoganda. What have they done?

The only thing I spotted - and wasn't 100% about - was the armband sported by Rogers whenever I saw him in the closing weeks of the season. I suspected it might have been a JFT96 armband, and wondered why he was still wearing it when the 25th anniversary had been and gone (and I'm in no way dismissing the significance of that anniversary - it was absolutely right that we all stopped to pay our respects to the tragedy and the poor souls who never got home that fateful day).

Is that what you're all referring to? or am I still in the dark/wrong on both counts!

think he means McCullough mate, although Broudie's just as much a chump too

No - Ian McCulloch (see the 'Dear Mr Hicks' YouTube video). :)

I stand corrected lads, only saw that hideous thing once after a few jars couldn't face it again, and could have sworn it was was Broudie. Gonna find it a bit hard to listen to Ocean Rain for a while now.

I remember seeing the Chelsea team he picked and thinking that Jose was conceeding the game and thought "Sod this, I'm off down the gym"

What a fool I was. I should have had faith in Jose!

Stuff like this mate...

I'm pretty sure Gerrard said he was crying after one game because of the memory of the 96 but I can't be fussed finding it.
