Ha Ha Ha. It just breaks through every now and again.

They threw it away. Captain Fantastic most of all. They'll never win it for years.

Ha Ha Ha. There on a plate.

What a marvellous failure it was. A damaging, deflating kick in the bollocks.

I wonder if they will write a play about

The miracle of Crystanbul

?

Liverpool FC's Istanbul miracle set to hit the stage
I MAY not remember many birthdays, anniversaries or even what I did last Thursday for that matter, but one date I will never forget is May 25.

CRYSTANBUL

3-1 with 10 minutes to go, their fans' tails are up, you've got Yannick Bolasie sprinting into acres of space all over the field playing like he's on turbo crack and giving your defence absolute murder. Goal difference isn't a contest anymore. Do you hold on and take the 3 points, or do you try and score 5 or 6 goals in ten minutes when the game has already turned completely against you?

Step forward Mr Brendan Rodgers.

I had forgotten all about it til I saw Mikey post that retort from Tony Pulis, if i recall right Pulis was on for a bonus that would have made him the " most highly paid manager in the prem", if they stayed up.

He should have got manager of the year for that result AND keeping them up.

Anyway. That slip, that huddle, that " we go again", that fat Kopite crying on telly.

Thank you

I'd like to bottle that feeling of 'inevitability' following the City game at Anfield and immediately contrast it with the hilarity/elation full time whistle at Selhurst Park then throw in a little bit of the relief of the final game and City being crowned champions. Them not winning maybe makes us lose a little sight on what could have been. I mean really think about it, id have been expecting a plague of locusts on the horizon as it would have been pretty much apocalyptic.

But the universe threw us a bone(s) in the form of Jose, Pulis and best of all Captain Fantastic. I'd have no qualms in reliving it all once a month for the foreseeable future, either like this on here or just in my own head. 'Obsessed and bitter', N.E.A

Dwight Gayle...bahahahahahaha

Oh aye. He covered himself well when they imploded at Palace. He did NOTHING whatsoever to stop that collapse from the sideline, but chose instead to talk up the collapse post match as being down to 'Roy of the Rovers' stuff from his team.

I'd have well taken note of that if I was one of his players that night.
That, plus who possibly could have A) told them to play that way or B) told them to stop at 3-1?

The good news is Stevie Me will relive it in every match when that chant goes up

I honestly hope we don't have to go through that again for a long, LONG time

If they have another title challenge next year, I don't think my health with sustain itself

It's funny what @SunKing said actually

I never actually watched the City game at Anfield. I was listening to it in the car as we were driving back from Sunderland. I was breathless just listening to it, I can only imagine what it would have been like to watch it. I was just gutted at the time

I didn't watch Crystanbul until after City had been confirmed as Champions. I didn't want to tempt fate. I didn't even sing the Gerrard song until confirmation of the final whistle at The Etihad

In the end it distracted from the fact that we had a very good season all considered. Had a cup run, was in the CL mix and got some brilliant victories. The 3-0 over Arsenal will live in my memory forever. Watching Seamus juggle the ball was just sublime. I'm going to try and focus just on Everton next season

I think Gerrard's stupid, hubristic "We don't let this slip, we go again" stage-managed "Gladiator" huddle followed by what happened might have replaced Michael Thomas in 1989 as my favourite non-Everton football thing. Events could not have conspired to make them look more retarded.

Thank you, universe.

How on earth did that rabble win the fair play award?

I thought the refs had a conspiracy against them
