ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

I honestly hope we don't have to go through that again for a long, LONG time

If they have another title challenge next year, I don't think my health with sustain itself

It's funny what @SunKing said actually

I never actually watched the City game at Anfield. I was listening to it in the car as we were driving back from Sunderland. I was breathless just listening to it, I can only imagine what it would have been like to watch it. I was just gutted at the time

I didn't watch Crystanbul until after City had been confirmed as Champions. I didn't want to tempt fate. I didn't even sing the Gerrard song until confirmation of the final whistle at The Etihad

In the end it distracted from the fact that we had a very good season all considered. Had a cup run, was in the CL mix and got some brilliant victories. The 3-0 over Arsenal will live in my memory forever. Watching Seamus juggle the ball was just sublime. I'm going to try and focus just on Everton next season
You were happy to see them win it IIRC Mikey??

I think Gerrard's stupid, hubristic "We don't let this slip, we go again" stage-managed "Gladiator" huddle followed by what happened might have replaced Michael Thomas in 1989 as my favourite non-Everton football thing. Events could not have conspired to make them look more retarded.

Thank you, universe.
The closest analogy is Steve McMahon that night - going around boosting every Liverpool player by wagging a 'just one minute' finger in their faces...and then the roof fell in.

But even that pales into insignificance compared to the Gerrard title loss moment. McMahon must be as happy as us. He's been reprieved.

Aye, I had McMahon in mind when I was writing that post. Hated that cocknose.

"listen to meeeeeeee, listen to meeeeeeee, this does not slip !!!"

....then he fkn fell over hahahaha

He's in the news non-stop now with England, shoving his mug into every news story there is trying to deflect away from the calamity he delivered to his own team in the league. It wont wash though. He's forever associated with it - the defining moment of his career.

Dis duz not slip.

Howling.

In all seriousness, they did very well to beat City that day but, as they found out, titles are won over 38 games, not just the one

The warning signs of the impending slip were seen in the city game, throwing a two goal lead away and begin a post away from conceding a third.

That gave me a tiny bit of hope that they would lose it, what happened next I could never imagine though

After the City result, when they declared themselves champions i got worried but my dad remained calm and said " This could be like Arsenal alll over again, they declare themselves the champs and fall on their arse in late drama "

Anyway, someone needs to get photos of Suarez crying, Stevie Me slipping, and the supporters bawling with tears from Palace and put it into a montage against this song

The catastrophic end to their season was a tilde wave of disappointment built up by their own fans

This, with the fact it was Gerrard who committed the fatal error, is the most pleasing thing about THE COLLAPSE. I think their supporters know it too. They know that the pressure they heaped on their own players with those toe-curling guards of honour at the very least contributed to the team buckling under the weight of expectation.

They were the 12th man alright...City's as it turned out.
