Oh yes! That just about nails box head Gerrard very nicely.

Well said that man.

One paragraph from that article sums things up brilliantly.

The most troubling performance – if you exclude Glen Johnson’s tendency to react to the arrival of the ball like it was an improvised explosive device – was actually Gerrard’s. The Guardian’s observation, shared by a number of commentators, that England’s Captain Courageous needs additional defensive support overlooks one important fact. He is the additional defensive support.

Steven Gerrard was a good player once. But now his legs have gone and he's not very good at all.

He should be dropped from the England squad (I'd like to see him dropped from St. John's Beacon, like). We all know it. When will the press realise this?
I have always thought that his athleticism carried him in the hurry scurry of the Prem but that he was found out at international level where technical ability is much more important.

I lol'd at this!

If you add in his ego being fuelled by the deluded knobs across the park spurring him on, with them gone and a not so supportive set of Ingerlund fans in place, it's easy to see how international pressure gets to him. Not so forgiving those crusading apes as most of them have to be middle class Herberts to afford to travel and as such fit in with keane's prawn sandwich brigade.

I genuinely feel he is only there, as captain, along with the talentless Johnson and the running handbag that is Sterling because of Woy's connection to the r/s.

Bit harsh maybe mate but that's got me pissing myself!!

TBF like, this kid wasn't so bad.

Don't swear please
TBF like, this kid wasn't so bad.
He'd be better if he looked up when he crossed, media making out he made us 5 goals and scored 6, he ran, like Walcott on the wing, Wright Phillips on the wing, Townsend on the wing but then puts in aimless balls. Once his head goes up, he'll be a very good player I reckon, his ball for the goal was superb and shows he can pass, he just doesn't, he lobs the ball in without looking and that annoys the s**t out of me as much as laziness.

I really don't get it with Sterling, it is probably down to the fact he has a worse athletic run than Earl Barrett and that takes some beating. I always expect him to break into a very camp dance a la Beyoncé when he runs, plus he spreads love and violence amongst his cast off conquests :)

The media hype has made Rooney the headline grabber...the "make or break for Roo" as his last chance for England glory etc etc. Its a convenient smokescreen I think though as Gerrard actually knows he himself is really struggling and he looks very anxious to me as though hes only waiting to be found out by the very media who have previously all but kissed his butt in adoration. That ta-ta end of his season with the RS may have caused him more ego damage than anyone thought and this game tomorrow could be a watershed in more ways than one.
