It would be brilliant if they extended the ban

No way they can reduce that ban from that excuse given by Suarez, all the kids around the world will be saying to their P.E teacher, I fell sir when caught biting.

An extra month should be given now for taking the piss with the appeal, that excuse is pathetic and lack of respect. He doesn't give a damn about how he acts on a pitch. He should be a man and take his punishment and use the time off to sort out his anger.

Nailed it. He was lucky to only get 4 months in the first place considering this is his third time.

Poor sweet Luis. I sympathise. I really do.

Kinda reminds me of the last time I was in court, when I said:

"So, this dog jumped backwards onto my 'dock', Your Honour...'

The astonishing is that was submitted as a defence presumably with the clearance of the Uruguay FA, their lawyers, his lawyers, and in all liklihood LFC took a look as well.

If not, well, not possible surely?

Luis Suarez told Fifa's disciplinary panel that he did not deliberately bite Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup, the Associated Press (AP) is reporting.

AP says Suarez outlined his defence in Spanish in a letter dated June 25, one day before an independent disciplinary committee banned him from all football activity for four months.

"In no way it happened how you have described, as a bite or intent to bite," the Uruguay striker wrote.

"After the impact ... I lost my balance, making my body unstable and falling on top of my opponent. At that moment I hit my face against the player leaving a small bruise on my cheek and a strong pain in my teeth."

However, the seven-strong panel dismissed the argument.

Is this real?

What an emotional roller coaster it's been
How can you be banned for posting 'consistent rubbish'? That site is built on such posts.

Oh wow, it is...

Seriously, they should extend the ban just for the sheer lunacy of the appeal and the complete lack of repentance. This is surreal stuff right here.

I am amazed at the amount of kopites and Uruguayans sticking up for him.

I know they have stuck up for him in the past to the point of embarrassing themselves, but I'm still amazed that he can continue to screw them over time and time again and yet very few of them seem to be calling him out on it. He has proved he is bigger than Liverpool football club and every single person connected with the club seems to have accepted that.

Before he joined Liverpool, kopites were virtually unanimous in their outrage at his behaviour against Ghana but as soon as he scored goals for them, biting, racism, injuring opponents and blatant cheating are just quirky character traits and it's the media and authorities that are in the wrong. I have zero respect for LFC and the Uruguayans currently. We should be unanimously condemning this kind of behaviour and if there are any appeals or legal action, I hope for the sake of the game they are crushed and met with further sanctions.

I just hope that he hands in a transfer request, leaves and they decide to hate him again because I am sick of hearing about him. I rate him as highly as anyone as a footballer. I think he's an unbelievable player and biases aside, we want to see those kind of players week in week out, but he's ruined it for himself and everyone else with his behaviour. That's now two world cups in which he has ruined games and brought attention away from the football. I do believe the game would be infinitely better off without him. Which, all bias aside, is pretty sad, as he's an exciting player to watch when he behaves himself.
