The bans not justified, neither was the Ajax one or the Ivanovic one. Until the rules of the game state otherwise biting comes under violent conduct and should be measured by the extent of the violence. That's not saying that Luis has anyone to blame but himself.

As for the juvenile attempt to turn Suarez into Vinny Jones, to my shame i have seen that compilation before. Most of those tackles are merely the rough and tumble of football and the others are sneaky rather then dirty. Some of them were, arguably, not even intentional ( just like the bite against Italy

). The one for Ajax was admittedly a red card.

I am sure if somebody was of a mind to, they could provide a similar compilation for half the footballers on earth. But where would the fun be in that, eh?

Oddly the one bite that didn't negatively affect the RS was punished correctly by the referee according to this blert.

Without question now. I still find it hard to believe Barca are that stupid, but it's happening.

Haven't Barcelona got a 2 window transfer ban coming - from my recollection it should be in place now for something to do with stealing youth players against the rules, but as they appealed it will be the jan and next summer windows if upheld.

Buying Suarez makes some sense in this context as they know they have a year of no transfers coming up so need proven quality that will see them 2 or 3 years - they will see a couple of months without him at the start as nothing in the big picture. There aren't many other genuine world class available so they don't have the luxury of any morals here.
