I must say Fifa did the right thing to punish Suárez. This is the World Cup and billions of people are watching. Fifa couldn’t just ignore a type of aggression that has no place in sport. Besides, it wasn’t the first time Suárez behaved like that. My only criticism of the suspension is that it ended up affecting Liverpool. The club had nothing to do with this incident and I reckon that limiting the punishment to international games would have been the best option. But by no means should Suárez have escaped punishment. In all my years as player and manager I have never seen a player bite an opponent.

they have bent over backwards for a player that has been banned for 5 consecutive seasons so far. 5! 3 of those are for the same offence, despite my personal opinion he is doing that to engineer a move away from Anfield / ajax when he does do that. But the guy clearly doesn't want to stay if a proper club comes in for him, he has shown that to the fans and yet they sing his name.

See it always seems to come down to the Ferguson argument with them. Oh he punched people and you stood by him, its the same thing. Its not, nothing like it, because;

. Ferguson up until that point had given us 6 seasons (broken, thanks to peter johnson) of service for the club. He had fought for the team, he had become part of the fabric (sorry!) he was an evertonian through and through. so yeah, when frustrations got the best of him we didn't call for his head. FFS he is still at the club now and probably will be for a long time, because he is part of our club. I didn't see many people acting the same about Ferguson as they are doing with Ratboy over there, but i suppose its easy to throw that around as it is in the past (a kopite in the past, shocking!).Point is suarez has no loyalty to the club and has tried to jump ship already, ferguson is a part of the club and earned a little bit of leeway with the fans, because he became a legend on the pitch when we had nothing else to cheer for.

I have said it before but i just don't get them, Suarez is a proven cheat, liar, immature, disloyal and unreliable. Yet they support him.

He has no affliction with them lot yet they treat him as a legend still and he can do no wrong. So when he leaves for better things ala mascherano / alonso and they are left dead still again they will sing his name long afterwards

i think it has a lot to do with him being their only hope atm. they're disregarding any kind of dignity and respect of their club because they've fallen so badly into a one man team.

they were burning his shirt not long ago because most of their fans seem petty and weak, how they've let a player like that drag their name through the mud i don't know. evrybody hates them, but everyone in the media is them, so we don't get to see the full scale of this hate. the fact of that matter is, if he was just an average player they would have never stood by him, he's their only world class player left and that's why they're being so hypocritical.

they'll be burning the shirts again when he pushes a move - but they won't feel stupid for standing by him throughout this - they'll just get angry.

are they seriously going to be buying lallana for £25m and paying him 100,000 a week? jeez.

he's a £9-£10m player with a 40,000 a week max all day long, even in this current day and age.

The thing I love is that a lot of rednoses are saying that he at least doesn't do career shortening and tackles with intent like Keane, Jones and Cantona.

That first tackle against ADO Den Haag is ridiculously insane.

I'm still dumbfounded to how he didn't get a second yellow card after that horrendous and obviously intentional ankle stamp on Distin!
