Yes! Very much like beating beaten by Stoke in the cup final, probably looks worse with hindsight as people assume they were a lower league club.

Still never expected them to beat Liverpool though. Our neighbours were a machine back then, hurts to say but they played wonderful football too. Obviously we know how wimbledon played which I suppose made it more shocking .... And more funny???

They were a decent side, with attitude by the bucket load. Laughed my head of though that day.

Bobby Gould lives near me. Has done for years, and he arranged for the cup to have a little parade around the town, with every school kid in town having their photo with it. He is a sound bloke.

He comes across as a decent man, if a bit thick, on talk sport . Plays the fool a bit maybe.

He is not stupid mate, believe me. Plays the media game well. One of his lads runs Somerset Cricket, or did till recently, the other played a bit at Celtic, maybe even the RS for a bit maybe. Investment banker or something now.

Never knew that mate. Whenever I listen and he's on I always think what a decent life he's got. Seems to be off on holiday with merge all the time! Ha ha

Why do you say Lukaku is "almost not coming back"? The latest thinking is that Mourinho may let him go, and Everton are the biggest club who are showing an interest, making us favourite. The only Prem Team who genuinely "capitulated" were Liverpool. Their epic fail will go down in history, perhaps only matched by Newcastle in the mid-90's.

Demba Ba our only hope? Roberto's just returned from his Brazil job. He's on record as saying he wants to wait until after the World Cup to make transfer decisions as he wanted to see how his targets performed under the greatest pressure. He wants to bring in 5 or 6 new players. All eyes on this transfer window, but patience required before judgement is met.

It really winds them up :)

Honestly, they were all over this forum when they thought they were going to win the league but they disappeared when Stevie G had his little trip. You won't believe this but a lot of them are coming back, buoyed by the world class signings of Lallana and Lambert.

SteveO.agree with you on that one..but i thought most who came on were......although they thought they had the league in their hands...were also suggesting it would be great if the blues could join them in the c/l positions...
Never noticed any blatent gloatings myself like.

Maybe some were even genuine in that..or maybe im just being gullible.but you dont last long on this site if you dont agree with the common concencus even though its supposed to be welcome to all other supporters.
And baring being abusive or goading im sure the mods would like it that way also..being welcome i mean..And being able to converse intelligently on all football related matters..

Could be a few spats of course so maybe it wouldnt work anyway.

gotta run its 5 nil germany....wow
