ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

there will be thousands mate, there wasn't even any interest until the england game just the usual paper rubbish that's been going on for over 2 years.

you see evertonians with anything on the back, jagielka, baines, barry, mccarthy, barkley, lukaku etc.

all kopites either have suarez or gerrard - if that fails they'll have some whitty sentence. you never see any other names on the back of their shirts.

I saw one with Adam on the back

LOL

As has already been stated; I don't reckon there will be too many morons with a 2014/15 Suarez shirt.

Morons as in kopites.....

I'm guessing you're being a bit mischievous here mate! The fact that they've even had to put a statement out may well indicate that indeed a fair few of the boneheads have bought one. I particularly liked the outraged father bit:

Mr Brice regularly travels to Anfield games with sons Edward, William and Henry from his home in Sussex. Edward’s shirt was ordered through the club website in mid June.

There is a poll at the bottom of the page, Are Liverpool FC right not to refund 2014/15 Luis Suarez jersey sales?
I voted yes, (not that I would wish to encourage such behaviour obviously)

I would normally go on the assumption that if I was getting a player on the back of my shirt, I'd either wait for confirmation that the player is sticking around before I order the shirt or I would get another player on the back who I know is going to be sticking around and then get the player I actually want on the away kit (If I'm going to buy that one)

OR, I'd just get the shirt without a name on it

That being said, it's ridiculous to put the name of a player on the shirt when they might be leaving

There's a reason why I didn't get Hibbert on my shirt this year, and that was because he hadn't signed his contract yet. If he hadn't, it would have been my fault for jumping the gun

Bit different if Suarez just signed out of the blue, but this has been on the cards since the biting incident

Just voted yes myself. Tee hee.

It's been on the cards since he signed his new contract last year!

That too, but before he bit the lad there was still a chance he might have stayed because Liverpool had Champions League to offer him and were probably all set to offer him more money

The biting led to them persuing the sale and took away their leverage

The minute he bites the feller, the reaction should have been to hangfire and wait to see where it goes before getting his name on a shirt. That's the rational way to proceed

To get his name on the shirt, when you don't know the outcome yet, is madness. Just get Gerrard or Lambert or Lalallanananannllananana, as you at least know they'll be going nowhere and maybe get Suarez on that awful Beano kit when you know he's going to stay

And there we have it.

They always have a disclaimer when you order a printed shirt that you cant get a refund unless its damaged or something (I preordered one off Everton about 10 years ago and one of the letters had come off when I received it, so they replaced it with a like for like) and that includes a player leaving or changing his number. There have been instances in the past where the player himself has paid for refunds (think Hadji did it when he was at Coventry because he'd asked for a number change, so when he found out they'd already sold a load of shirts with his name on, offered to pay to replace them all) Cant see Liverpool bothering with that though, occupational hazard, chance you take. Tough [Poor language removed].
