I tried to buy this in Waterstones but it was raining outside and I slipped. Whilst I was recovering Demba Ba nipped in and got the last copy.

I hear it's a good read though and the ending is great.

fwiw, I have no idea which fee it is. I do however think it's a bit weird that if Liverpool had extracted the £75m release clause from Barca, why they wouldn't announce it, if only to pacify their fans... and also, can't see Barca negotiating for 10 days, only to pay the full whack

This.

1. Barca are the only team in for him.
2. He's damaged goods, another mistake away from a season out.
3. He wanted out of the RS, no way on gods green earth was he stepping out in that new bland, mundane blouse of theirs again.
4. Barcelona had the upper hand in the negotiations (see No. 3)
5. The RS need to appease their fans, by making this deal look as sweet as possible - hence the release clause fee being touted, therefore making the RS look like they have got what they wanted.
6. All ENGLISH media quoting £75m - leaked quotes from the RS I'd imagine. All other media quoting Euros, meaning a lot lower price. Last thing the RS want people to know.
7. If it comes from the RS or anybody affiliated with the RS... I don't believe a word of it.
 

So finally, it is over. The persecution of Luis is over. His persecutors have won. I firmly believe, that like Jesus when facing his persecution, he looked to the heavens upon agreeing to the move to say 'Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing'. I just hope for their sake that God was listening. I know Shankly would have been.

Honestly, some of the quotes they come out with (LFC fans generally, not just RAWK) make them sound like some sort of socialist organisation.

"Shankly was a socialist so I must be one too...." . I firmly believe that's where the 'cult' (sic, perhaps) behaviour comes from.

Like an anti-NHS. LFC - the national conspiracy service.

I've never heard a socialist (or a capitalist for that matter) come out with the absolute guff that LFC fans spout.
