The Times article on the Remy Transfer ......

However, those close to the player claim that Liverpool withdrew because a proposed £14million sale of Fabio Borini to Sunderland collapsed. “It can’t be a medical one because he’s never failed a medical. That’s not possible, I don’t think,” Redknapp said. “You couldn’t meet a fitter lad, there has to be another reason.”
Speaking at the presentation of Rio Ferdinand as a QPR player, Redknapp added he did not believe Remy had a medical problem.
“He will come back here, I just can’t believe what I’ve seen and heard,” Redknapp said. “I don’t see how he failed a medical. He had a stringent one here, Newcastle, Marseilles, France, never had a problem with fitness, can’t meet a fitter lad.”

Now here's a struggle, which one to believe, Redknapp or Rodgers?
I can only come to the conclusion that there is no such thing as a Remy.

I can't believe they haven't replaced Suarez with a world class striker in this window. It's as if Fraudgers wants to show everyone that last season's success was down to his 'tactical nous', rather than Sewer Rat's talent.

Hope it comes back to bite him the helmet.
He's trying to one-up Mourinho again

Id never say no to a large "Remy" though...straight up with ice ! Jokin apart, in Snake Oil Merchant terms..Im sure Rodgers will soon be chasing Arry's tail with his progress in the bull**** : dispensing of, category

Is the feeling in here that Liverpool will still make the Champions League again next season? I agree with the post above talking about them having great depth but an average first XI. With the way Man U are spending, the quality Arsenal have added without losing anyone but Sagna (assuming they're going to add more), the fact City are champions and Chelsea could end up with the best team in Europe if it all gells right for them, I really can't call it.

Add to that if we sign Lukaku with the youth coming through we're a much stronger proposition than last season and Tottenham, as always, are threatening to step up, all has the makings for a hard to call season at the top.

It's going to be interesting who the 'experts' have missing out on the CL anyway out of the expected 5.

Exactly. Liverpool isn't John Henry's plaything like Mansour's Citeh or Qatar's PSG; he wants to see some return from all the money he has spunked.
Haha, I think that's deffo the case, and imo, they may be looking to take some dough out and sell at a high stock now-ish.

There'll be fatwa issued on 'Arry on rawk later.

They've closed the thread on the Remy Transfer. However, to keep us amused, theyve kindly got another thread on the go.... "Coping Without The Flawed Genius"...with suggestions about their aspirations without Suarez....

Again, that's only 2 new faces into a team that is already aware of their system, style of play and approach to the game. As I said in the opening post, it does look like we're targeting players who are already familiar with similar systems. That should hopefully mean that for new players the transition is easier. I think that's particularly true with the Southampton arrivals.
So I suspect we're building towards starting this season closer to how we ended last season in terms of style than how we started. That said, I think that the conservative football at the start of last season is at least partly a myth. But for Begovic having a worldie we'd have battered Stoke by 4 or 5 on the opening day. And we weren't trying to play that way against Southampton, we were just restricted by their pressing and struggled to work the ball out of defence.
I actually think the increased number of games might help the new arrivals to settle, as they'll have plenty of opportunities to play without needing to be thrown in at the wrong times due to lack of options.

That's straightened that out then. No mention at all of how they'll play without him. Stanley Unwin lives.

oh yes yes we surely rejected to do the Remy deal for 8m even with a 135m transfer budget, and a 8m deal hinges on a 14m striker refusing to move

i'm sorry but we are liverpool not everton who have to sell first before they buy :)

remember that time you tried to convince the media you haven't spent loads of money on transfers and the whole footballing community wished you well in your battle against the rich clubs.
