ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Is the feeling in here that Liverpool will still make the Champions League again next season? I agree with the post above talking about them having great depth but an average first XI. With the way Man U are spending, the quality Arsenal have added without losing anyone but Sagna (assuming they're going to add more), the fact City are champions and Chelsea could end up with the best team in Europe if it all gells right for them, I really can't call it.

Add to that if we sign Lukaku with the youth coming through we're a much stronger proposition than last season and Tottenham, as always, are threatening to step up, all has the makings for a hard to call season at the top.

It's going to be interesting who the 'experts' have missing out on the CL anyway out of the expected 5.

Think they will finish 5th personally.

Everton, nailed on.

In fact, David James to say we'll finish 16th. You heard it here first.

They've lost the player that gave them an edge. A genuine World Class talent.....and they've replaced him with Big Lambo and Lallana. 2 decent larkers from the team that finished 8th.......Bayern must be cacking themselves........

Lovren is a good CB but they're making room for his arrival by shunting their best CB out the door, in Agger.

Can I've no real idea about, but Me La will keep him on the bench anyway, as he's sure to continue picking himself every week like..

Reality bites for Brent this season, he'll be exposed for what he really is imo and he'll be throwing haymakers like a bevied tramp by Christmas.

no chance imo. but then i probably said that last summer. definitely no chance this summer with their current team, they'll have to bring a lot of quality in the next few weeks for me to change my stance though.

nowhere near the quality of real madrid

you could say redknapp is lying in the sense of he's not going to openly admit remy's failing medicals as they're trying to flog him, but he's not the chairman, he'd be happy to keep him you'd think, he won't care about the money they're losing on wages. surely remy won't still be at QPR at season's commencement though.

who knows, would be a great signing for arsenal, us or spurs imo, if they're willing to look past the personality.

I heard he slapped his wang in Rodgers face, defiled their trophy cabinet and slapped the owner round the face, before claiming he didn't want be there and would happily move on at first offer...

Since he may gain them 5 points that clearly would not be a deal breaker, but then he said Gerrards car would be better in a slightly lighter grey... Back to Harry it is.

The thing I've come to appreciate most over the last few years, and what I think has been especially highlighted by this world cup, is teams are more than the sum of their players. I don't disagree Real Madrid on paper have more individually superior players (especially going forward), but if you think Mourinho still has it (and while he's hardly been at his best the past few years, I think his record against England's top teams last season indicates he's still arguably the best active manager in world football), then he knows the team he's looking to build and for 2 transfer windows now, he's building exactly the team he wants, with every resource available at his disposal.

That's why I say they could end up with the best season in Europe next season. Because they're the only top team I can think of, who have a top manager at the helm, with almost limitless resources and the ability to completely build the team he wants, free (to as large as extent as possible) from outside influence.

I've said this before, but they have paid an awful lot of money for, at best, above-average players. Remy would have been good for them. I think they are significantly weaker than last season

So what happened to Remy?

Did his visit to Melwood make his knee explode?

Becoming a bit of a habit this.
