ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Think they signed a very good defender in loveren tbh. The rest of there signings are pretty meh tbh. Llanna is a very good player mind but he'll be judged by the ridiculous price tag.

Interesting to see what striker they will sign before deadline day. Would hate for them to get a falcao or cavanni but I'm 95% confident either of those won't happen! Bony I would think.
And Bony wants hundred K per week.

I'm very curious about how they will approach games this season. Last year they went hell-for-leather in the first 30 min of a game, with that sort of tempo impossible to maintain for 90 min. Usually they scored in that period, and could sit back and counterattack. However, when they failed to score within the first half hour, their record was abysmal. Without Suarez they probably won't be scoring in that first third of the the match 80% of the time.

Also think teams will have learned a lesson from watching us, Arsenal and Spurs against them and not foolishly play a high line.

The kopites are fuming already at the prospect of Eto'o being their 'big name' arrival to replace Suarez. lol

Reus, Cavanni, Falcao, Higuian etc etc have been what they were expecting...

What they're actually getting is a has been on a free. Love it.

The clues were there RS - dropping interest in Bony due to the £19m release clause, kicking Remy into touch due to Borini's Sunderland move dying......

I dont see that blitzkrieg approach adopted next season. They'll feel with Lovren in there they have a better ball playing defence who can link up with midfield rather than bypass them to a large degree (as happened last season). I'd see a return to the more ponderous first season in charge for Brent with Gerrard occasionally mixing it up with one or two of his Hollywood balls out to Sterling.

Their midfield is awful though. Sterling and Sturridge had better get used to not seeing much of the ball if what you say is true.

Apparently Eto's agent is scouring Europe for mugs to take him on a massive wage.

I hope they get him. He appears to me to be a real problem to manage. He'd probably expect a starting place, and is way more trouble than he's worth. It'd be comical reading how they spin Suarez out and Eto in.

Yes, it is. It's terrible. But I think they believe they have a player in Can who can do a covering role for Gerrard and carry the ball forward for them. On first viewings of him for them he looks a bit of a lumbering player who needs a lot of space ahead of him to get into top gear. They probably see him as their Yaya Toure though.

No mate, he's their answer to Zidane. Really.

As regards our neighbours, delusions of grandeur spring to mind. If it is not the next Gerrard, it is Zidane, a second Suarez, you name it and they think they have the reincarnation in their squad.

RAWK.....

"Maybe Rodgers wanted more football-based thinking than algorithm-based thinking when it came to transfers. Eto'o, or a player of his calibre, makes sense if you want a season or two of known quality. You get experience, if not physical ability. It might be the experience that makes him an attractive option to the manager. Especially in the Champions League, where Lambert might struggle to find his rhythm if there is a need to throw a different forward than Sturridge on."

They do talk some crap don't they.........
