You cannot replace Suarez. All last night Liverpool were looking for a leader on the pitch as though they couldnt believe they were 3 down and they had no one to turn to. They had become so reliant on Suarez doing all his other things alongside scoring: controlling goalkicks on his chest, playing in wingers, dragging the defense all over the place, pressing the cbs when they have the ball. There was none of that last night, they could barely get the ball from front to back without going long as Suarez wasnt there to knit it all together.

As Sturridge is finding out, its very easy to score when someone else has slipped two midfield markers beaten a man then squared it for you one on one with the keeper, much harder when you have to do it yourself.

Then theres the goals he scores, its a completely fifferent game if Suarez wins a pen or scores a free kick in those 30 mins. He was so good at scoring early and then Liverpool can play their kick and rush counter game. If you dont make the breakthrough though the house of cards fall down and watchung Liverpool trying to chase a game against a top side away from home was embarrassing.

He's not wrong.

He'll slot in his first few games. Fans will love him. Then he'll turn. Stop running. Get subbed. Get sent off. Etc.

Then they'll turn on him. Will be sold next season.
