They wouldn't meet you until like the Quarter Final though, surely? English teams can't be grouped together.

Not a bad group for Liverpool. Although I don't know much about Basel, I hope they're as formidable as some here are suggesting. Real Madrid versus Liverpool is interesting. On paper, I don't think I've ever seen such a top level mismatch between wingers and fullbacks. Ronaldo would absolutely eat Johnson alive and I get the feeling it's going to be one of those games where Stevie Me's age will become brutally apparent. The worry for Liverpool is that they genuinely don't have the ability to tighten up against teams far more relentless and physical than they are. Manchester City gave a hint of it at the Etihad, and they barely got into second gear.

For the most part the CL is a load of crap. You get teams in it from nomark countries whose top 2 teams would not stand an earthly in our PL.

...yep, and I think Utd have come unstuck in easy looking groups. For some reason, though, the reds invariably play well in Europe. Different team, different players but a know how. They have the draw they want but lets just concentrate on ourselves.
