they actually ended the campaign with the same amount of wins (a worse one at that) as some bulgarian part timers

Said the same last night. That last minute goal at home v Ludo 'earned' them a place. They got arguably the easiest pot 4 team. Had they got Roma instead of City they would have been lucky to scrape a single point from the group.

I see no point in obssessing over them in the Europa. They are in it due to abject failure, or at best par as they where in pot 3.
Well, we where in pot 3 and finished top, with a game to spare, having despatched one of the strongest sides from pot 2 home and away.

We are seeded. They are not. So they play home leg first, no rousing return leg for them, and there only meaning full result in Europe for years was a last minute penalty against a side I had never heard of.

Just enjoy the complete unravelling of them since late April.

But what about those famous European nights under the floodlights and the singalong to the YNWA record on the tannoy and Brenda saying they could pass into folklore and win the cup and..and...........R.I.P..........

It was the win in october that was the start of their season if i remember. and ballotelli was going to find the net a lot more after his league cup goal according to all the pundits.

ALthough they said that after all the pundits said liverpool need to get rid, like the week before.

All i want for christmas now is for them to get beat vs united and go on a barren run again in december. Get them solidified in mid table with a gap to the top 6 and see how great they are then with the return of the best striker of all time to the team.

Us winning a few will be a bonus as well.
