ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

In his press conference yesterday Wenger cast doubt on whether Liverpool had actually ever been in contact with Sanchez or his agent.

Sounds like Rodgers trying to cover his own arse with tales of 'just missing out' on his 'real target' and having to work with 'players bought for hm' by 'the committee'.

why has balotelli not been complimented by anyone in the media? fair play to him, he's still a young lad, but rodgers is treating like complete sh*t. he keeps banging the same old drum that he was 7th choice, a risk, not really wanted etc.

how do they expect balotelli to perform well if he's getting that sort of confidence "boost" from his boss?

i thought sanchez simply turned them down because they weren't good enough. he wouldn't have chosen there over arsenal anyhow? RS thinking he would have been the answer are dulding themselves though. he's had a fantastic start to arsenal career, carried them in virtually every game, he has a great squad of players around him and look how poor they've been.

even his best efforts for liverpool would see them hardly any better off. last season was a one off for so many of their players, they pretty much all overachieved.

I can't believe the media are still lapping up the crap that he spouts, but then again the press is flooded with RS.

Just as if he actually tried to sign Sanchez!
Just like they were trying to get Reus!

Biggest tosser in football, so suits them down to the ground.

Can't even look at him without wanting to slap him.

The conversations with Wenger and Rodgers probably went something like this...

Wenger: "Our game is designed to give you chances. Simple. You'll connect play and then run towards the penalty area and finish off the moves. We've got pace and quality all across the team to make sure you can play your natural game and score lots of goals"

Rodgers: "The committee are working on implementing a new "design thinking system". But it's all my idea. It's all in my head and any success is down to me. Anyway, the midfield players will be combining in complex systems pattern of pivots and pirouettes that'll confuse the hell out of the opposition. I'll need you to start your runs on the acute angle of the trapezoid where Stevie will find you with a 50 yard diagonal pass - he'll reach you one time in 10 but I have to accommodate those passes otherwise MOTD would have nothing to show of him. Anyway, you'll get the ball and progress to where you can pivot into a new phase of play and feed Sterling. He'll be on a rhomboid run where he'll be able to set up Stevie who'll just ignore your position and fire it into the top corner from 20 yards. This will only work 1 time in 20, but when it does I'll be hailed as a tactical genius and Stevie will be adored by the media"
