ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Oh please someone call an ambulance - I've just split my sides wide open (Off the BBC website)

Ashamed of Nothing FC manager Brendan Rodgers said his side can finish in the Premier League top four after their battling 2-2 draw against Arsenal.

Martin Skrtel, playing with a head wound, nodded an equaliser seven minutes into injury time at Anfield.

Liverpool are 10th in the table, nine points behind fourth-placed West Ham.

Rodgers said: "Can we now challenge for the top four? Yes. Absolutely. The most important thing is that we are moving in the right direction again."

Not entirely true. Arsenal usually alright against Poo home and away. It's against the big sides like Man Utd and Chelsea that Arsenal struggle. Poo aren't in the same category.

Who don't, Arsenal? Liverpool are the perfect side for Arsenal to play against - it's the sides that 'bully you' like Stoke is where Arsenal always struggle. On paper, Arsenal should win today. Better players, better manager, more of a 'winning mentality' ethos...

Of course football never happens like that but I fancy Arsenal today.

Only 5 minutes apart, you do like to keep your options open lol

....I thought I watched all the game yesterday but must have missed a number of goals. According to media the reds are back and BR says top 4 is 'easily' within their grasp. I thought they drew 2-2 at home with a team we drew 2-2 at home with but clearly I have that wrong.

Mate you do realise they occupy a different space-time continuum ?

...of course, thanks for the reminder. I forgot that they were Champions this time last season. Mid-table at the moment but everything is good at the greatest club with the greatest fans in the whole wild world.

Imagine if they lose their next game.

I am amazed by the revisionism of them. Listening to Jamie Redknap go on yesterday you could have been forgiven for thinking it would have been the biggest injustice in the history of football had Liverpool got beat. I can only think of a couple of decent saves the Arsenal Keeper had to make and Liverpool didn't come close by hitting the woodwork.

They huffed and they puffed, passed it around nicely but ultimately never looked a threat. They are slowly morphing into Rodgers Swansea side.

Again the idea that they are going to be challenging for the top 4 having just drawn a home game is flabbergasting. It maybe that Sturridge comes back and single handedly races them up the league. I don't think he will do that though and their defence still gives away goals.

Apparently, V Arsenal, they enjoyed the most possession since records began. I' m certain that Brenda will shoe horn this into his next presser

So yay, they've won the Opta Index cup.

....UEFA club rankings are out today, must be a misprint as I couldn't see the reds anywhere near the top.
Are they moving in the right direction though? That's what matters.

Moving in the right direction = the new 'turning a corner' / '5 games from greatness'
