Ian Ayre on City Talk, ref Gerrard's move/contract.

"His (Gerrards) point was that after playing every week, playing a bit part role is not how he wanted to finish his career. It is not really about what LFC wants, it is about what Steven Gerrard wants."

See fair enough to him wanting to go to MLS at the end of his career. he is swapping Liverpool for Los Angelis and getting paid whilst he is there. Said before he is mainly interested in being the star man still but on the other side of the world that doesn't concern me.

My biggest thought though is that Old Gerrard was holding Liverpool back as they feel like they need to play him on the basis of it being him. Compared to next season when rodgers has to then build his own team and not work around the captain that is the point where some of these young players they have signed really come into their own and push them the further mile. Lallana is a decent player, walk into our team any day of the week, Markovic / Can / Stirling / Moreno / Couthinio are all promising players who can get better. Certainly markovic is showing glimpses of being a good player and can when he isnt being dropped every 2 seconds. Stirling is apparently the next ronaldo/henry if you listen to them lot and moreno attacking wise suprised me when i saw him at the start of the season.

Point is Gerrard leaving is the best for both parties and we have to go through the excrutiating few months now of the (as the cartoon above says) Gerrard leaving party 2015. But one thing no-one has considered in the media..........

Gerrard was in lampards shadow in this country for honour and success, what if it happens again in america?

Kinell, they are coming to town in the preseason again - http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-fc-pre-season-reds-set-8441038

Was bad enough last time when they were in Melbourne, now they will actually just be down the road from me. Look at those comments FFS. In tears at the MCG. I had almost forgotten how unbearable that weekend was with our entire national media furiously knocking one out that a stadium of people could hold a scarf and mumble through a song until they get to the four words they know.

This will be the end of me, I just know it.

Will swerve the centre of Brisbane and national TV for this
