ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

I find that more annoying than Suarez biting someone or diving.

It's just not on, imo. It's like walking up someone's path, pulling your kecks down, dumping on their doorstep, and then wiping your arse on their cat.

Been there, done that. In my defence, I was a tad wasted.

I dont want to see it happen, obviously, buy if he did it at an away match and someone in the crowd threw a mobile phone or bottle or coin at him and he was knocked out, it'd be his own fault.

You are getting soft, Dave.....I would love to see that happen :pint2:

The contrast between Sturridge's stupid dance, Gerrard's pitch length knee slide, and Suarez's fake dive in comparison to Jagielka after his Anfield screamer says everything about the difference between the two clubs.

Lallana is annoying mr now when he scores.

They keep showing a picture of him with a look of ecstasy on his face I thought one only got when climaxing in bed with a dirty girl one shouldn't be with.

The saving grace is the bugger diesn't score too often.

Not on the pitch anyway.

Hodgson owns Rodgers. He presses all gnashers buttons.

What Woy should do is not pick Sturridge at all. Then sit back and watch the player and his agent start agitating for a move elsewhere so he can get his profile back up again.

PMSL if he did that.
In all honesty he has done very little to justify being picked. When you look at his record outside of a purple patch last year he has been very ordinary. This fella is 4 years older than Lukaku and his second best season is 11 league goals. He got 21 last year on the back of playing with an outstanding strike partner who made the whole team look a level above what it was.

His league goals per season look like, 2009=4, 2010=1, 2011=8, 2012= 11, 2013=11, 2014= 21, 2015= 2* (we are 2/3 through the season.)

In spite of what the kopites will have you believe he is not some top draw worldbeater. (As he has been) he would be jibbed off from any of the other top teams. He is basically a lad with a bit of pace and not a bad finisher. They are 10 a penny for top teams.

Rooney will obviously play for England, he is arguably England’s best ever player. Kane should be partnering him. After that it would be hard to see how Austin, Ings and Berahinho shouldn’t all be in the squad as young players in great form. That’s before you mention players like Danny Wellbeck who have scored champions league hatricks this season.
I’m not sure how old 10 goal a season Sturridge warrants a place in merit.

Of course if Hodgson were clever enough to do this, it would be deemed as more evidence of him hating Liverpool. The fact he has magically become as good as Suarez the moment they sold Suarez means it can't be so.
The reality is, Sturridge hasn’t done enough to be in an England squad on either his current or historical performance.

Sod the FA Cup, I think they are nailed on to win the league next year (no Champions League, no Slippy G).
Rodgers is just a slightly less talented, more arrogant and cringeworthy version of Moyes and he will win them absolutely nothing.

When you look at him he stinks of a no mark loser who’d probably be boring people half to death in a job as a security guard somewhere if he hadn’t won the lottery and been given the job of Mourinho’s cone man.

Much like Moyes he brings in some quite talented younger players. Unlikely Moyes he spends a fortune doing this. And unlike Moyes he thinks he’s re-invented the wheel by doing this.

They have become like how we were under Moyes though. When the pressure is on they will bottle it. They’d have lost at Bolton were they playing 10 men.

At the start of the season, having spent 100 million and been crowned the April Champions of the premier league they were given a huge opportunity to win the league. It was their moment. It was Rodgers moment. Fast Forward to February and they are languishing in 7th place. They were unceremoniously dumped out of the easiest champions’ league group imaginable, having managed only 1 win. They have been knocked out of 2 competitions already.

They are making a bit of a revival now there is no danger of threatening anyone. Rather like how we did under Moyes. Rodgers messes about with formations and sides don’t really take them seriously or give much thought to how to counter it. This 3-4-3 malarky will only work for as long as they are not a threat. The moment sides start to counter them, and realise Sakho is a complete liability and at this point they are finished and the goals will start following in at the back again.

God, we are awful at the moment and we managed the prevent them beating us, by simply sitting off them and not allowing them to counter. They were completely snookered without that, and had it not been for a Debutante having a good game would have been lucky to get a 0-0.

What’s quite sweet is for all the mocking of us under Moyes that’s what they have become. A side that will finish between 7-4th(if they are lucky) and bottle it at key moments like at the start of the season. To move beyond that you have to be able to attract top players. Much like Sanchez, Falcao, Willian or Lavezzi these top players will take one look at Rodgers and run a million miles in the other direction as he smacks of a loser who’s stuck in a delusional dreamworld.

They meanwhile will buy your Scott Sinclairs, your Hendersons and convince themselves they are building a dynasty. Long live loser Rodgers.

Sounds right. He is a decent forward, but that's all he is. I think he has a fraction of the talent Wellbeck possesses, for example. He's pretty much a one trick pony and his injury record means he's a liability for any club looking to fight seriously on 4 fronts per season.

He plays for Liverpool though, and therefore *should represent his country*...which is a fair enough logic as far as I'm concerned - the more of their players playing internationals and opening themselves up for burnout and injury the better.
