ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

This is exactly what the media do. They pay these pundits millions yet not one will point out that actually chapped lips has spent as much as anyone else. So the armchairs who believe everything they see on TV go along with it. The special one is the only high profile person who points this out, until Pellegrini recently who must already be getting sick of it. On goals on Sunday recently Mourinho said it was a disgrace that they branded Costa a criminal after his stamp. Well I hope he was watching yesterday when Stevie was branded 'emotional'.

I subscribe to sky because I want to watch footie so I've got to put up with the know nothings like Redknapp but this season has been worth every penny to listen to the likes of Parry and Tyler whinge about the good old days when dem reds nearly won it.

I wouldn't bank on it to be honest, the media have ignored it because they've been wrapped up so much in Gerrard's groundbreaking public apology. There's nothing in any of mainstream sites and I don't recall even LVG making anything out of it (?). Gerrards slight of hand has taken the heat out of Skrtel's equally aberrant, deliberate and dangerous stamp but it looks like a public apology from the former England captain and media darling is enough contrition for the FA to gloss over Skrtel's actions.

Piss poor really.

You are wrong Dougie, Skirtel's stamp has been highlighted in many papers with photos and questions for the FA.

We are all Blues on here. The Gerrard business is lats face it no surprise to us. On the quiet we have always known he is a dirty player but usually hides it. We all know as well how he cheatingly gets penalties with the shot in the back routine.

Think back as well to the last derby of Suarez and the two stamps he got away with on our players, so much for Liverpool's play.

......specifically being covered on the Sky News sports bulletin. I think Brendan was specifically asked about it at his conference but didn't hear the response. If you look at the incident, Skyrtel is looking at the keeper ahead of the stamp. Not nice. They were up in arms over Costa, very difficult for them to argue differently now.
yeah but it was the speed de gea came out,"big martin"couldn't get his foot out of the way,he's not that type of player either, you just know what's coming from them eggs!!!

...the pool are still best priced 7/2 to finish top 4. I thought they might be bigger than that. I suppose if they get beat by Arsenal in their next game and United win they could slip to 8 points behind. Thursday nights on ITV4 might beckon, the shame of it.

Daily Mail ignored it as well, yet had several articles on the Costa stamp.

Costa was compared to a criminal I seem to remember, all the major media outlets lead with multiple articles about how it needed to be investigated. I've not come across one yet myself although there's something on Sky sports website now.

Funny really isn't it maybe Mourinho has been right all along about the media bias..

Not usually a fan of the #banter soccer am kind of thing, but I saw that one of the kopites from redmen TV was on this and had to see his live reactions.

Only a kopite would react to Mata's beauty by calling it "the slowest overhead kick I've ever seen".

Some priceless reactions. No one's topping Aldridge's though.

Know a French Kopite who is going over for the Newcastle game specifically as he has never been and wanted to see Gerrard play.

Haven't stopped laughing (I have been told that his girlfriends dad is also laughing his head off, he is a Blue).

Poor soul, he'll have been on the waiting list for 20 years to get that ticket
