ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

This will light the "blue"touch paper for them IMHO,now clubs know what he wants they will be put off,he won't agree terms with the RS,they have an unhappy player on their hands for next season, disharmony in the camp, captain in waiting Horrenderson will be asking why he is being offered less than half of Sterlings proposed offer, other senior pro's won't be enamoured with this either, and best of all I wonder what Mario makes of all this?lollollol
If they get beaten by Arsenal on Saturday I expect things to get very ugly, very quickly there at Liverpool.

They're a CL spot failure and FA Cup exit away from crisis.

There's going to be a lot of work needed on that squad in the summer (after having spent an eye watering £250M in three seasons), and If they dont land a CL place or a cup this season I can see Rodgers - despite all his baloney and faux self confidence - crumbling, and FSG moving for someone like Blanc.

The fact Sterlings agent has leaked this story about them turning down £180k a week clearly shows how unhappy he is there. Just look how this has played out, offered £80k says he wants £100k, they agree to that so he pushes it further to £150k hoping they won't match it and even has the cheek to ask for a mid season holiday that they pay for and they give in. So now he's stuck and goes for £180k a week hoping they'll bottle it and let him leave. They'll probably cave in on this and he'll have to ask for over £200k before they get the message.

He's desperate to get out it seems and is willing to risk losing money in the process to get his way. I wonder what's been going on behind the scenes to make Sterling hate being there so much? I bet Gerrard's been putting poison down as a leaving present after the way Rodgers and the owners have treated him over his contract. Its probably the reason Henderson hasn't signed his contract as well.

Agree about Gerrard doing that to be honest, he is one bad snide

Sorry guys but everton are so crap these season what's the point bothering with thrash talking, dispacable club yes but we are still behind them

Didn't them celebrating a league title in April and meeting the team coach before home games raise a smile loooweee? How about when Gerrard came a cropper? Palace? Let's win 10-0 and improve our goal difference? How about laughing at how bad United are only to be behind them again within one season? Do you like comedy loooweee?

Having to take injections before every game as they rely on you so much won't be helping.

I wouldn't have thought getting told to not go with England helps much either.

Sterling is rumoured to be unhappy that he has been playing wingback rather than one of the attcking roles.

Don't know if it has been Rodgers way of "putting him in his place" given the contract negotiations but whatever the reason it is a bit daft imo - Sterling can play there but he is much better further forward.
