Can't see Henderson at Chelsea, he's not good enough. He wouldn't be good enough for pre Rodgers Liverpool, he knows he's won the lottery ending up with Brendan mid table Rodgers who will make him captain give him over 100k a week and play his favoured kick and rush headless chicken running football. He's equally comfortable with another loser in Hodgson at England. Any top manager would not give him the time of day. Apart from popcorning Liverpool can't see why Mourinho would buy him.
There's something to be said for this when money is no object and you generally have the team you want as Mourinho does. It's not just popcorning Liverpool, it's sending a message to every player in the world that Liverpool are a small midtable club that the real proper big clubs cherry pick players off of. It is the final step in eliminating the Liverpool 'big club' myth and putting them alongside Tottenham as just an also-ran with money (which to be fair, makes them more attractive than us still).
It re-solidifies the 'traditional' top 4 as Chelsea, City, Utd, and Arsenal and ensures Liverpool continue to lose out on top drawer players because those players see Liverpool as second-class.
That's what Chelsea buying Sterling or Henderson does for Mourinho - it finishes the kill.
I never imagined that, after our train wreck of a season, the situation over the other side of the park would sustain us through the summer months but it looks like things are working out ok and Mutiny on The Bountiful Anfield Express is going to make it a great post-season.
