Coutinho has generally been playing very well the past couple of months and has scored some excellent goals but for the first part of the season he was pretty anonymous. Some it is probably to do with the formation tweaks suiting him but Sterling also had to deal with that plus playing all over the pitch on top of returning from the world Cup and apart from "Tiredgate" has been more consistent throughout. Scored several more goals and assists as well so just considering Liverpool players not quite sure why Coutinho deserves two nominations over Sterling's one, especially given Sterling is 2 years younger.

As for the league as a whole was surprised to see Coutinho mentioned at all because of that early season form. If it isn't judged on being consistent all season and just having an excellent half of one, would have thought both Aguero and Fabregas would have been included before him. Suppose if you are going to good at one point of the season, best doing it when the votes are being made!

it's cult behaviour, all objectivity removed from what are normally rational people when the topic turns to their cult, if hitler had been a red they would tell you poland were in the wrong
