Steven Gerrard is "blown away" by Liverpool FC boss Brendan Rodgers
The Reds skipper hails his manager for his tactical intelligence and says he is one of the best he's worked with.
In an interview with American network ABC, he said: "Tactically he is very clever, reacts to situations, changes things for the better, see problems and adjusts things very quickly. "In the two years I have worked with him he is up there with the best of them and I've worked with (Rafael) Benitez, (Fabio) Capello, (Roy) Hodgson - big names.

"He can play any formation he wants to play as he knows he has the personnel and he is not scared to change formation from game to game or tinker with it as the game is going on.

"He is a players' manager, a manager you want to work hard for and win for.

"He shows the players unbelievable respect, he treats them like his own children and creates an unbelievable atmosphere to work in.
"I have been blown away by how sharp he is in the dressing room, how quick he is to see a problem."

Rodgers was at his tactical best today. Changing the system that resulted in 2 goals being scored. What a genius Mr Clever really is and his P45 will be in an envelop at reception.

Because his own kid turned out so well...

I bet Slippy booked a hotel in London for his birthday and everything. Oh well, at least he can take Alex and her kids to Madame Tussauds and on the London Eye instead now

Shes probably already in the waxworks...as a dual before/after his Chelsea transfer debacle multi thousand £££££ pay rise - aka "a doan fockn baleeeve it"

They had a lot more riding on this than I gave them credit for, judging by the wounds they have tonight, so raw, so fresh, smarting, stinging, seeping, ripe for sticking pins in, pins warmed in a lighter's flame and dipped in distilled vinegar before being pushed, sometimes slowly, sometimes quickly, into the aching flesh, breached by the agony of defeat and reality of mundanity.

Sometimes flouncy words just feel appropriate...... :)
