Do you remember when they were all proper laughing their heads off at paying 16m for Balotelli? Like they'd unlocked Enigma for the first time ever.

His transfer policy was baffling. He spent a combined total of £22 million on Lambert and Mario when a few quid more could of got him a Rom a Benteke or a Bony. They seem to want to overpay for players who haven't proven anything. Strange philosophy like.

The cult are recanting. Just a matter of time before FSG are given the green light of fan discontent to plunge that dagger into Gnashers.

Do we want that though? Think of the damage he could yet do in two more windows. He finally pushes Sakho and Skrtel out to form his dream Lovren Ashley Williams pairing. Sterling is sold and Ings comes in. Lucas is shown the door and Someone like Colback brought in for 10 mill. Two good buys in three years and they were forced on him by the committee. Give him another season and that squad will be completely useless even for a top manager. Agent Rodgers has been brilliant though. Reina, Carragher, Agger, Kuyt, Suarez, Gerrard all shown the door under his management yet he's done it without angering the hystericals. They're now happy with a hope of fourth. Expectations well and truly lowered.
