ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Apparently, he's tweaked their tails in the past by briefing friendly journos info that obscures who's making decisions on transfers and distancing himself from poor signings. Of course, he was doing that from a position of power when the team was doing well. Now it's a very dangerous game to start commenting about needing the 'right tools' to compete. It reads like he knows his fate is decided and he's just positioning himself for the aftermath.

When you look at it soberly, they (FSG) plucked him from Swansea and gave him a fortune to make his name in football. Now he's acting like they've let him down!

That has to end in tears, I'd say.

Well yes, in many ways I admire the audacity. However it didn't work for Benitez who fluked the champions league for them, what chance this joker has I'll never know!

Brendan Rodgers refuses to be drawn on Memphis Depay - but says Liverpool FC "project" is still attractive

........“If it’s right for the player, and the project is right for them to come and learn and develop, then if we’re not in the Champions League – which is probably highly unlikely – players will still want to come.
“Of course, they want to play in the Champions League.
“But if they’ve watched us over a few years, this is maybe a season we miss out on, but if we can regroup again, get some quality starters in for the summer, then we can go on another great adventure next season and hopefully get back in there
.”

The "project" wasn't handed in on time last year, was it. It wont be handed in on time this year. I wouldn't bother holding hold my breath for next term, FSG, either.

That quote is full of if's, and's & buts. They had their chance & blew it! Its like a bad gambler losing a grand on a bet then losing more money trying to win it back

Very true mate, but Depay has yet to do anything.

Too many wingers from Holland have been built up like him, Babbel, Elia ans Drenth, just of top of my head.

I understand your view but after seeing Depay this year a few times = WOW. Takes a mean freekick. In one game he puts it top corner, another one follows in a similair position, commentator says can he do it again ?! ........ Top corner again ! Like it was nothing. Going to be a good player i think, better united get him instead.

ah fk it, who am I kidding...

come on Stevie, git the ball, come on git the ball, come on...

sort of been agreed that we wouldn't post any more, out of respect like

we've had our fun and it's time to let it lie
Ohh cmon!!! Cheap shot! Did you have to use the word lie? As in Lie down, as in Gerrard had a lie down. You're out of order.

Grow up, it's a year ago, i feel sorry for Stevie, a great career tarnished now by fools.

One more slip of the tongue from you about this subject and i'm windmilling. He tried harder than anyone that day, ba none.

yeah sorry about that, it just slipped out
I'm done! Not having this. The whole of football wanted Liverpool to win the league, Their captain gave a fantastic speech to motivate them.

Yes it went wrong, yes he said the word slip then actually slipped, yes he single handedly stopped them getting their hands on the trophy, yes it means he'll never win the league and yes it's meant that every ground he's visited since has sung an unfunny, cruel song at him resulting in a season of terrible performances and a dreadful end to his Liverpool career....

But seriously does anyone think that all this happening to Gerrard is funny?
Because i do:
