ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

It also defies logic. Their argument appears to be that a striker who has only ever scored more than 11 goals in a season once (out of now 8 seasons) was going to send them into the top 4. They are carrying on like they've lost a world class player. It's like us losing Kone, a bit of a shitter, but scraping the barrel really.

What none of them like to admit is the goals had dried up before his injury this season and they've dried up after it as well. He was also woeful at the World Cup. He's a very decent premier league striker when fit like a Benteke Austin Ings probably Kane Welbeck but he'll never be in the same bracket as Aguero Costa Rooney and Suarez, even Giroud is probably a bracket above. Like Sterling he had it so easy playing next to genuine world class talent last season that his worth was massively inflated. For most of the season he was just scoring tap ins and one on ones. Against the packed defenses without Suarez him and Sterling have been found wanting just like in the World Cup. I actually think his injury has done them a favour as him playing means one of Sterling or Hendo at RWB which has been disastrous for them.

This is spot on. Suarez is an absolute scumbag but was a truly world class player and lifted all around him. He carried that Liverpool team. When you watch his performances for England he is very ordinary.

I am not saying he's a rubbish striker. He is a decent 10 goal a season man. But this idea he's world class and would have fired them into the top 4 belies any degree of credibility and evidence.

and insinuating that Hodgson runs his training sessions like a slave labour camp LOL. Their hatred for that man is unbelievable, you'd think he had committed several war crimes and violated the Geneva convention on numerous occasions from the way they talk about him.

It even prompted the following on there.....

It's not Hodgson's fault that Sturridge is broken. Yeah, the first injury apparently occurred because of Hodgson, but did he cause the following five or six? Did he bollocks. Hodgson gets so much [Poor language removed] on here, you know, he didn't want to be an abject failure here.

I know, you're right - Sorry, I'm just getting all my soundbites stacked and 'ready' for if/when we don't get fourth. If it happens, the mud is probably going to get slung around to wherever it sticks best - Different angles and viewpoints and so on and so forth...

Thing is I could have accepted them squeezing in Horrendouson in if they wanted a RS player as he's got more goals and assists than Coutinho and Sterling and he was made captain this season. But to just wedge in Coutinho over Santi Cazorla who's been much better than him is criminal. Fabregas probably was never gonna get the position as that'd make 7 Chelsea players.

.....probably already mentioned but the inference from the Sky pundits yesterday was that all the Chelsea pro's voted tactically for Coutinho to ensure Hazzard won the big one. In fact I think John Terry actually announced he was voting for the Reds player. On Talksport this morning even Danny Murphy agreed his was a strange selection.

Chelsea boys creating megafume with strategic voting. Plebs

As if a talented and ambitious player like Depay would sign for that lot when he'll likely be in demand from sides who can offer consistent CL football/trophies. *Prays this post isn't vaulted when he wins them the league.

As for Dutch wingers, I remember Overmars being pretty amazing.

liverpool couldn't attract anyone as good as depay when they had CL to offer - no chance now.

I look forward to them fapping themselves into a frenzy over loads of big names who will then join actual big clubs instead. I will really enjoy the fume after and RAWK then deciding Depay, Jovettic etc are sh1te

They could always try to dampen expectations again?
