Tell him @davek on Grand Old Team says hi.

Jan Molby: Liverpool FC shouldn't be too concerned about missing out on Memphis Depay

"I wouldn't get carried away with Manchester United signing Memphis Depay, a player we were supposedly targeting. He's a wide man, not a striker, and got his goals while playing for the best team in Holland – so this isn't something to be too disappointed about."

Been drinking again have we Jan?

classic kopite response. remember when they were close to konoplyanka, they were talking about how ace he was and singing his prasies than he stayed at dniprio and all of a sudden he "would have cost too much" "not what we needed" etc haha it's like when a girl turns a guy down and the guy goes "i dont care, i wasnt that interested anyway" to try to save face

The underlying message being that he wouldn't have been as successful playing for a much lesser side like Liverpool?

classic fox and sour grapes scenario...Aesop well understood Kopite nature

Looking at that team, I'd be happy if they started next season with that. Flanno and Hendo and Lucas. How the mighty have fallen.

I was winding up a RS about how well the ex RS players Alonso and Mascerano were doing in Europe and that same view came out, how the mighty have fallen.........

This Depay situation bears the hallmarks of another Sanchez. The RS advance party of twatterati were toeing the party line then that if he didn't want to come to them, stuff him. The usual template for how they massage and alter their previous views and contradict what they've previously said then swings into place when, stepping up to the plate, the likes of puddled old Aldo chimes up saying theyd have won the title with Sanchez. No doubt when the next raft of Rodgers's flawed signings fail to make any impression whatsoever and Depay is paying back some of his 25m fee at Old Trafford, the usual suspects will be lamenting the RS "failure to sign him". This masks the failure to address the stark main question however - which never seems to even enter their heads - why these finished-article "marquee" players continue to habitually give them the knock-back.
