ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

......I wonder if the truth will out one day regarding Gerrard staying with the Reds. Clearly a lot of conjecture and rumour that conflict his 'love of the club' Speach after yesterday's game. The alternate is that he was a prisoner at Anfield when he really wanted to leave and subsequently advised other stars to go.

Regardless it truly is the end of an error (couldn't resist that).

Pirlo is a top class player. I am not sure he will be suited to the premier league though.

Understand your point but didnt they say that about Cambiasso ? Same with Desailly ? Even Shevchenko werent as bad as they say, he was just bad because of the hefty price tag placed on him, for example sheva was better than balotelli yet balotelli gets lets media flak because he was only £16m. Pirlo has never relied on pace, just instinct and natural talent. Paul Scholes werent quick either but considered one of the best naturally, see Xavi too. Anyway as you can tell, im in love with Pirlo.

I thought he wanted to get away from Liverpool, the city, becasue of threats made against him and his family from some of the gangster fraternity he knew so well?

He has just helped Juventus get to a semi final of the CL.
He has just helped Juventus win Serie A with ease (okay its not the best league).
He probably has a better pass and set piece ratio over many players in his position - over a much longer career.

Im ahuge Pirlo fan though......

Bizzaro you idiot !
Leave Damon alone you. He's not an idiot, he's just mad.

I have always believed he wanted to go to Chelsea that time but external forces were at work.

The problem I think Pirlo would have here is the same problem that Ozil had to adjust to. It isn't the pace, it's the space. Both players rely on creating pockets of space around them to dictate the game. You aren't given that time on the ball. At his age can be cope with the physical rigour of the league. You don't get the protection from refs that get in Spain and Italy .

Cambiasso was always more energetic around the pitch so it would have been much easier to adjust.

He was virtually on his way to Chelsea, then the kopites with their typical behaviour, started burning their shirts with his name on in the streets and outside Anfield, his family were receiving all sorts of threats, then all of a sudden Gerrard came out and said he was staying, the laughable thing about it was Gerrard saying the reason why he was thinking of leaving was because he felt he wasn't loved at the club anymore and he thought they wanted him to go, bullshit! he only stayed because he was scared as hell to leave.

I like it, so hes played like a dead trout for the last 12 months so his gangstas would want him to move on, no more fear for Slim Slippy
