Steven Gerrard: Being Liverpool manager is one of hardest jobs in the world but I have thought about it for the future

Outgoing Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has revealed he has contemplated the idea of one day managing his boyhood club - a role he believes 'is probably one of hardest jobs in the world.....
Gerrard has been touted to return to the club as a manager in the future, following in the footsteps of Kenny Dalglish, and it's something Liverpool's iconic No 8 admits he has thought about.......
When asked if he could see himself as a future Liverpool boss, he told the
Mirror: 'We will have to wait and see. I don't want to jump into conclusions and create headlines.
'Being the manager of this club is probably one of hardest jobs in the world. First and foremost you have to be good enough, got to be prepared for it and got to be offered it.
'A lot of things would have to happen from now until then so we will have to wait and see. But it is something I have thought about so maybe one day.'

Just in case him leaving the RS isn't mentioned in the headlines for five minutes, Gerrard manages to throw another rip-rap into his farewell bonfire for Rodgers to get his pearlies round. Undignified egotistic bore.....following on from his other recent soundbite about him originally wanting to stay another year before leaving but then didn't want to be pushed out the door. Pathetic.

This has been Gerrards game for some time now. I said earlier on the thread never underestimate 2 things about Gerrard. 1 is he's a snide, and 2) he's a fraud.

He's a fraud because he portrays himself as something he's not. Caring, gracious, thoughtful, kind. A snide because he's made a career out of being a decent footballer, by running down and undermining just about every player he's played alongside. Whether it was Alonso, Mascherano for Liverpool (who carried him) or Lampard/Scholes for England who got slagged off because he was unable to play alongside them. We are talking about 4 of the best central midfielders in world football their, all of them carried Gerrard to their own detriment, while he got all the plaudits and they got slagged off. Liverpool and England have underachieved because of him.

He has some very influential friends in the media. Rodgers couldn't wait to get rid of him this season. he flat out refused to take him back on loan which says it all. He can't wait to have him out of the club.

Gerrards plan this season, when he realised Rodgers was going to let him go was firstly to bully Rodgers into changing his mind, then failing that try to get him sacked. Rodgers hasn't got much brains, but he's clever enough to know if you can get rid of Gerrard do it, if he keeps him there he'll be out of a job very quickly.

The way Gerrard has leaked information about his contract whenever the team lost, or would shake his head for attention when he knew the camera was on him while he looked at Rodgers were the actions of a fraud playing to the galleries. He knows now he is a liability to play for Liverpool, or any top flight team. But pretty soon he is going to want to manage them. Watch out Rodgers, those knives are going to start turning soon.

A couple of interesting articles in the echo.

Step forward captain snide with his veiled comments even when leaving. He can't just leave and be happy, and is still constantly trying to undermine things. Someone has seriously hacked him off and he is a very angry man.

As for this one, it is essentially saying don't sign anymore players we'll go with the overpaid dross we signed last year and they will magically become good players. A classic example of kopite magic thinking. Doesn't look like Rodgers is getting his money for marquee signings though. It's nearly as embarrassing as Kenwrights "he'll be like a new signing" mantra. The difference is, Evertonians cringed and fumed at that, whereas they will probably swallow it hook line and sinker.
