ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Why? He's genuinely Scott Sinclair in every single conceivable way.

Flourished for one season in a side with pace everywhere and the brains of Suarez, yet was still the weakest link, and other than that one season domestically he has been horrid for England without anyone noticing because people overrate players who run with the ball, no matter how braindead they are when doing so, and he cannot finish his dinner, never mind a chance on goal.

I'm devastated he's leaving Liverpool. I badly wanted them to cave and offer him £150k a week or something daft, as he is worth a quarter of that.

Honestly, that Ibe looks twice the player already, and even he isn't that good.

This will end well for them, I think.

They are set to get crazy money for a lad who is more hype than substance.

The manager's head will in all likeliehood roll.

They win twice over.

Don't know where to start with that.

I think my point is valid. We as fans would also be angry if it was our young starlet that was pushing for a move away from the club... And understandably so.

And I'm talking about the fans here, not how they've handled it as a club or the hideous queuing up by the ex players to slaughter Sterling.

You make it sound like I'm spamming the thread in support of the [Poor language removed], when I've just posted a few replies to responses I got from my OP.

And I'll make the point again just to annoy you.

When Jeffers demanded a transfer to Arsenal, did we hold our hands up and say fair enough, he wants to go play CL and challenge for honours?

No did we fk. There was uproar and we let Jeffers know about it.
The closest equivalent is probably if Stones went, we brought him fairly cheaply and despite being young is one of our best performers yet is only on ~30k.

If he agitated to leave after the Euro's next summer, after an equivalent 3 seasons in the first team as Sterling currently has, and stated his reason for moving was realistic chances of regular CL qualification and silverware think quite a lot would understand his position.

The key difference is I doubt the club would smear him as the move being purely money based.

you say that like it's a bad thing......it ain't.

It wouldn't be funny at all at any other club.

lol

But with them it us not only hilarious.....it is totally in keeping with the circus that has pitched camp at Anfield this past decade.

Could not agree more.

And it's most definitely not a bad thing. Would even say it's the highlight of the season for me. But that also says it all about our season lol

No mate I totally agree that we as a club would handle in a more dignified manner.

But if Stones went about it the same way as Sterling and his agent has, then I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be getting a Moyes like reception on his way out.

That said, I'd bet my life that Stones wouldn't go about it in the same way Sterling has.

But how much of this perception is because of how Liverpool and their media mouthpieces have handled the initial contract negotiations? I'm on the record as saying that don't think his agent has handled this the best but sometimes you are dealt a pretty bad hand.

Also in a recent thread ~70% voted that everton wouldn't win the league again in their lifetime, not just Stones's playing career. Doubt you would get that sort of figure on RAWK. Expectations of the two sets of fans are different.

There's a hole that's feeling a bit empty. You busy tomorrow?

My point is that the common consensus seems to be that RS fans shouldn't be feeling aggrieved that sterling wants a move to a bigger club, and that their fans should just accept their place in the world and let him move on.

Well if that was one of our young players, then I wouldn't be happy about them moving on so early.

Maybe that's right, maybe it's wrong. But I just remember how sick I was after Jeffers, Rooney, Lescott and even that bloke in your avatar.

But don't get any of that confused with my delight at the situation going on over there.

Love how gnashers threatened young Sterling he,d be on the next plane out of Melwood for been a smart ar5e.
Now it looks like Sterling is putting waffle on the next plane to Boston hehe!

This stuff just writes itself with those muppets FFS!!!

I still think he runs funny.

Funny peculiar, not funny ha ha. Maybe both.

Oh but the fume from both red and blue.......
Don't get me wrong, he's decent. But its just to piss those lot off...

One trophy in nine years at Liverpool. It's time that they stopped thinking they're in the same class as Chelsea and United. They are no more an attractive proposition for players than Spurs are.

Exactly like our Velma here.
