It's actually difficult to argue the sentiments expressed by the obnoxious Gary Neville in that article.

I can, Block.

He says about United players going out in Manchester and no one bothering them.

As far back as the 1960s Bestie was having to go down that London for a night out such was the mobbing in Manchester every time he went out at home lol

Not strictly true Khal, I'm a manc and used to work about 200 yards from Besties shop just off Deansgate and he regularly used to sit literally on the doorstep and happily sign autographs and chat with shoppers and passers-by. He really was a nice fella and a truly wonderful footballer... I hate Manu with a passion, but I loved watching him and Denis Law play except when against us.

I remember them both, plus Charlton, playing a night game at Goodison, we battered them 3-0..........

For the sake of argument, lets agree that he is a talented, young, England international player, who has some obvious qualities, and some work to be done on others. Who has publicly said he wants to leave for a better chance to win stuff. Or his agent has, so same thing.

So, where to next? United havnt bought a Liverpool player since 1756. You could argue that neither Chelsea nor Arsenal need a player like him, and Jose hardly has a track record in buying "potential" anyrate.

City? Possible/probable new manager this summer, (for some reason it seems), and again, other than a possible replacement for Milner, who some say is going to that lot anyrate, makes some sense, but it hardly looks like a bidding war is about to break out does it?

So Liverpool can value him as much as they like, but the reality is, they have a lad on £35k pw, who it seems can buy his contract out for zippo in 12 months, so the valuation will be the buying clubs to dictate it seems to me.

Or have I missed something?
You have presented a well thought out, rational argument but...........................this is the RS so they'll probably get a fortune for him.

Yes, a wonderful team to watch ;)

Been in and out today. They done anything daft today? Other than Carra Lad thinking that Maldini actually knows who he is?

Mate. They're Liverpool. They can't get out of bed without doing or saying something stupid.
