Think Everton could have gone on at half time instead of Stoke and still managed not to win from 5 up. First objective for next season should be smashing the hoodoo. We've battered Arsenal and United yet haven't beaten some of the worst Liverpool sides in premier league history.

I keep thinking "surely we're due a win now?" and we never are

Here's hoping they keep Rodgers on, he buys poorly again and we smash them in the first Derby of the season

Of course, that'll be the catalyst that finally leads them to get rid and someone competant then comes in, but sod it I'd enjoy it for what it would be

No Carragher or Gerrard to gee them up or get over the importance of the fixture. We might finally be able to play the team on the pitch and not the occasion

FSG should act out of mercy. The cult wont turn 180 degrees now. He's going to limp into a new season with no authority and the Kopites meeting every defeat by issuing a fatwah against Gnashers.

I think you were correct earlier when you (at least I think it was you) said they wouldnt sack him, he is cover for them not having to dig into their pockets again this summer, which they would inevitably have to do if they got rid and brought someone else in. This way they will be able to get Milner and Ings in for bobbins, then leak to the press that there is money but they just arent going to trust him with it.

Though then again, the obvious turning of the media kopites and the mob against him is usually a bad sign.

Oh yeah, it's good for FSG, bad for Gnashers (although he wants the job, the poor bugger should be careful what he wishes for - the Kopites are about to get into death threat phone calls and bullets through the post mode).

It wasn't just Suarez though, the fact they prepared for one game per week and not two like Chelsea and City was crucial.

With that fair wind behind them and the record number of pens it was almost impossible not to go close, despite having that gormless manager in charge.

It was the perfect storm last year. What you say, plus Utd being rubbish as well, blessed with a decent injury record, and he still mucked it up.

I'm glad they had him. His antics sullied their reputation further, he didn't win them anything and now they'll have even more unrealistic expectations and less patience for each new signing they make. Some of the current shower are genuinely awful, like.

Let them stew in their own self-made bed of delusion even further... *cackles bitterly to self*

It was Mourinho's first season back in the PL; Pellegrini's first season in charge of City; ginger bollocks busy destroying United; a record number of injuries for Arsenal; Suarez having the season of his career; 12 pens; 94 yellow or red cards shown to their opponents; one game per week to prepare for....

Let's face it...the ball was on the penalty spot, the goalie was standing by the corner flag and they hoofed it over the bar.
