Are you serious ? Rodger's Ego lost them the title. Jose played him like a fiddle in the Chelsea game, Brenda was desperate to prove a point and get one over on jose, jose had his team sit back, soak up all the pressure and then kaboom!!!! hit them on the break. A simple yet effective tactic. Against Palace he really thought he was gonna win by 10 goals and went all out attack. When Palace started getting back into the game he should have had the tactical nous to have shut up shop and taken the 3 points. Brenda alone cost them the title by believing his own hype.

Tactics though, they only needed a draw against Chelsea and should have played for a bore draw. However, their eagerness to beat Chelsea cost them big time. They could have sat back at 3-0 v Palace and cruised to the title. Well done Brendan, tactical genius.
 

The goal from Slippy G occurred from nothing. Chelsea were just breaking up and disrupting play, they weren't really creating much - it was a half- chance that thankfully Ba seized.

I'd love to blame the fans for the hype from their fans that was going on every match pre-game that Spring, but really the slip was just chance.

The Palace result was stupid from the players and Brendan Rodgers for sure

That's not how I remember the Chelsea game.

The Shoite were in full control before the slip and can't recall Chelsea being any sort of threat before that.. Of course the dynamics of the game changed when Liverpool had to chase, meaning Chelsea were a huge threat on the break. But before that they couldn't get near the redshiote goal.

So I can't see how you can say that Brenda got his tactics wrong when his tactics of controlling the game with the ball are what totally nullified Chelsea for that first half.


Only one man is to blame for that game IMO. And thankfully it's the man I've loathed for the past 15 years or so.

Either way, he and they ballsed up and we can live off that for years to come

Chelsea missed a couple of chances before the slip, their young defender making his debut missed a sitter of a header at a corner minutes earlier.

The 5hite were toothless against them all game and Chelsea had their number from the kick off.

ha ha ... unbelievable. Watch the game again, Jose had no intention of setting his team out to attack, he had no need to. Rodgers only needed a draw but his ego would not allow him to settle for that. Absolute fraud of a manager and him and that team deserve each other.
 
It's been a beautiful year for Liverpool - from them almost winning the league, to losing Suarez, to their poor season, to the infighting with Sterling, and them now turning on Rodgers -- it's been simply delicious to watch
