Surely it was Cantona's versus them? Not saying it to be bitter, but that strike, through a crowded box, was the perfect finish by a master with more talent in his little toe than Gerrard's entire body.

You've forgotten that the media (and most fickle fans) have fully embraced Gerrard's departure and are happy to produce a final swansong.

Gerrard's goal was without a doubt a good goal, but that doesn't matter; it was almost certainly going to win for 'other' reasons.

I'm surprised his header against AC Milan in Istanbul didn't win it - doesn't matter it's not the FA Cup as it's different rules for those lot.

Yeah, I'd put Di Matteo above Gerrard's as well

I'm not blinkered enough to say that Gerrard's wasn't a good goal, because it was, but it's definately not the best ever IMO
