ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

An act of treachery. Pretty much sums up Rodgers agreement to allow that to go through. It's basically like Werner saying to him "you're my bitch, ok?" ...and the no mark obediently replying "yes boss".

A horrible thing to have to say about even a Liverpool manager, because after all these owners -like all owners - are absolute pond life. But in this instance it's been richly earned. FFS, how could the Uncle Tom sell out throw his mate Pascoe under the bus, he's known him for years?!

What a ****ing rat of a man.

What is startling is just how he has treated his close ones. Pascoe and him were very close on that being Liverpool Documentary. It was almost incestuous with ones son knobbing anothers daughter. Yet he has sacrificed him. It shows a man who has absolutely no principles whatsoever, no sense of decency. It's like the way he's discarded his wife, truly awful human behaviour.

Any decent person would have said to Werner "if Pascoe goes, I go with him". I wouldn't mind betting Rodgers offered his mate up as a fall guy in a show of loyalty. At least Dalglish had the balls and dignity to resign when they tried to screw him over.

I can't help but think of the Homer Simpson moment. When under threat he goes "don't hurt me, I have a wife and kids, hurt them". Thats essentially how I think that meeting went.

Ha Ha. Indeed. 'The Liverpool family' he always describes it as too.

I'm speechless at what he's done...mind you, I'm just as shocked at how an Echo reporter has, in more than one word, nailed Rodgers as a coward....or maybe he's taking his cue from the owners rather than the playing side of the club now?

It's staggering how Rodgers could have accepted those terms. How could he have thought it would be acceptable? As I said earlier: it's one thing being a bit of a joke who's out of his depth - that's forgiveable. This stuff isn't though.

Did Rodgers have any loyalty to his staff or has that gone overboard in favour of number 1? There seems to be some thing going on over at Anfield that is for sure. Wonder who does the transfer dealings now? Bet FSG are keeping a tight hold on the purse strings after last summer's bonanza.

TBH I am not sure how accurate that Echo article is - for a start, as you suggest its unbelievable that any manager would sign up to demands of that kind (its probably more likely the case that it was him who identified Pascoe and Marsh's positions as being ones that could be "improved" in an effort to save himself) - but he must surely be on his way out if a rag that is, as we all know, fed stories by those at the top of that club is openly coming out and saying things like that.

Well that's just a slightly different twist on the same theme. If Rodgers took an order to ditch his coaches or whether he offered them up as a sacrifice is the difference between, on the one hand, being weak and self serving, and, on the other hand, being calculating. Either interpretation has him banged to rights as a man prepared to stab colleagues in the back.

It is a very odd set of circumstances. Like, if I was a business owner, that had my own pound notes in it, and the best excuse the senior manager could give me at an annual review was that is was the fault of his junior managers, then the lot would walk.

Strange to say the least.

they are trying to build a reputation that we already have. and the word is stability.

it'll surely be the owners' choice on the new coaches. would be pointless to give rodgers a second chance at these assistant when, if they have another poor half season to start, he'll be out and then they'd have to sack his coaches again. pascoe should have stayed at swansea where he was before rodgers even came.

Mate, you are joking, could they ever learn anything like how to behave. A tall order if you ask me.
